  1. yes i'm referring to my 72 and i do have SUs... i just set my timing yesterday (you won't believe me if i told you it took 1.5 hours and $36 to change my timing!) and i haven't had a chance to "open it up".... i'm going to start a thread chronicling my events from yesterday so i'll keep you posted... anyway, thanks for the ideas!
  2. my car pulls fine through 1st and most of second, but if i'm under load or in third gear my car starts missing at around 4500-5000..... i'm guessing it could be the timing, but does anyone have any other ideas?
  3. old thread! is that the adjustable FPR for carbs in the VB catalog? if it is i was thinking about getting it.... (not trying to hijack your thread)
  4. ^^maybe that's what i read... i just remember reading something about the 72 being the first year for the tank.. perhaps i misread it... i stand corrected
  5. they should be. the body was unchanged, but the only problem you MIGHT encounter would be the latching mechanism

it looks like the color on the new shelby...
  7. guess you're just going to have to keep acorns in your driveway...
  8. wow! good find! i may have to hound you for some parts....
  9. haha! that's some good sh!t.... don't think i'll try it though. i don't think that any bank's president will want some guy feelin on his nards..
  10. like my poor floorpans... anyway, the car sounds nice. i have been wondering some stuff about auto-x as well, namely how much i can modify my engine before changing classes....
  11. you might want to check out zhome.com they will have a ton of 411 for you
  12. i believe that he was saying that it works great... if you ever blow a head gasket, when you are replacing it you will notice that your cylinder(s) are friggin clean!
  13. i am going to be interested as well, however not in the very near future. i still need to get my car running right before i invest in any aesthetics. i thoroughly commend you for your project! thank you very much for making nice (better?) pieces, and making them more affordable! as to the question about the g-nose covers, aren't they a completely different shape? i thought the g nose was completely different than the regular front...
  14. ya, that was definitely a pizzo.... tweeker sh!t.
  15. "word the f*ck up"
  16. i was changing the oil because the PO put ATF in there, i was getting some higher viscosity oil in there because i was having a lean condition off of idle. bruce, i am planning on placing my order for the "just SUs" and "tune up" videos later this week. do you still have that deal up where i can get both for like $30?
  17. nology actually has some pretty good wires.... what they don't say is that you have to have a full ignition set-up to actually notice any power increases. spark plug wires alone will not add HP to an otherwise stock engine. unless of course they are yellow and come with stickers, then it's a completely different story!
  18. ^^ yeah, sorry so vague. it's like a little repetitive squeak kinda thing right around the little vacuum thingys (great explanation i know!) on the top of the intake manifold. i don't have photoshop or anything, but it's those 2 vacuum things above the front SU... *edit* "and now for something completely different" (well not really) also, i think one of my carbs is messed up. i was emptying the old damper oil out of them and i noticed that when i pushed down on the piston while it was upside-down, one of them popped back up and one of them didn't. i thought something could be wrong there, and i didn't want to start ANOTHER thread... seems like i've been making a bunch recently...
  19. while my car is running, it sounds like there is a squeak in the area of the intake manifold. i think it's a vacuum leak or something, maybe a busted diaphram. any ideas? my car isn't really running right which is why i ask... just troubleshooting...
  20. nevermind... forget this post!
  21. i figured that the 15/16 was a piston measurement, but i decided to be vauge so that i wouldn't be wrong! ... anyway, i was just figuring that a full system swap would be a lot more efficient than a piece-meal kinda job
  22. it should.... the 15/16" is just the measurement of it.... i have a 72 as well and i plan on putting the 15/16" on... i will let you know how it goes, though.
