  1. I have it. Send me a PM with your email addy and I'll hook you up.
  2. When you changed all the fluids, did you drain ALL of the gas out of the tank, and lines, change filter and replentish with fresh gas? Sounds to me like possibly a fuel problem from sitting for so long with stale gas.
  3. , The twins need some work (like in another profession, maybe a carnival sideshow)
  4. Last time I noticed it listed, it failed to go at $24K (that was about 3-4 months ago)
  5. zhead240 is still shopping. Sorry to disagree with your viewpoint on it's value, but it just isn't worth $19K to me (which is all I ever said in the first place).
  6. That depends on whether you'r on the buying or selling side of the tranaction, I think.
  7. Not that I know of. 26th-Z would know better than I.
  8. I would expect it to be priced closer to it's current value, rather than it's future value. I'd want to be sure that the original radio was there (that the wiring / face plate / HCP wasn't HACKED to install the '80's unit that is currently installed. I'd also have to examine the car much more closely than the pictures posted in the auction allow. They are more suitable for a magazine story than a advert to sell the car. Virtually ZERO detail that tells much about the car. Seems I recall a similar car with 1/2 the miles selling for about 18K just a month or two ago. I'm not saying that it's a bad car, just that it's not worth $19K to me. As I said, "We'll see, It is the Silly Season." Now if it were Burt Diamond's car and the price was still $19K.....................
  9. You'd have to see Chino 240Z's car to understand why he wears driving shoes.
  10. We'll see. After all, It is the "Silly Season". I think I'd expect a bit more for 19K
  11. Mark: Since Dave Rebello built your motor, and he's relatively just down the street from you, I'd contact him. He might just hand you a handful of studs, and I'm sure he can recommend a great gasket for you. Probably (possibly) better than a Fel-Blow.
  12. Got to agree with Stephen. I'd suggest locking down this thread, but some people still wouldn't let it go. It was great while it lasted, but IT'S OVER.
  13. I thought the Holley carb install was a joke. ANY side-draft carb set up would have been preferable, even a "backyard" rebuild of the stock SU's would have been better. I wonder what condition the rest of the engines were in. Compression, Leak down, etc. Like someoine else said, they should have raced before and after the "mods". We'll never will know if they improved anything or not.
  14. :surprised :disappoin But I am working on installing a '59 T-Bird Dash in my 240Z
  15. Vicky: You would still need a fan (in a street driven car, but a racecar might get away without one), but you could have an electric fan. The beneift (or at least one of them) of the electric water pump is that it wouldn't be driven by a "fan belt" which robs HP from the engine.
  16. I bought a head gasket set from MSA and have not had any problems with any of the gaskets in it. Some people like Fel-Pro, others call them Fel-BLO and won't use them. Metal head gaskets are used in some engines to adjust the combustion chamber cc'ing and or valve to piston clearances. They are usually available in 1 mm and 2 mm thicknesses. They generall aren't used unless you done some serious modifications to the combustion chamber. Also, the are VERY expensive compared to regular head gaskets, however there is nothing "wrong" with them. If you have a cam from Dave Rebello, I'd call him and ask him what you need. You can also run your other questions by him.
  17. Michael; I'm not sure I understand what you are referring to. I didn't even look at the 2bbl carb section, since we weren't discussing them here. I have no idea who manufactured them, or even which market(s) received them. I read and photgraphed only the first pages of the "SU Type" sections of the Fuel System part of the manual, where P/N's were mentioned.

  19. Here' photo's of the data in 1972 L20A / L24 Engine FSM, and the 1973 Complete S30 FSM Interestingly, they refer to the Round Top AND also Flat Top carbs as "SU Type". No mention of Hitachi at all. Guess it would be unrealistic for Nissan to refer to parts by the individual manufacturer used in the outsourcing.
  20. I believe that is because they are copies of the real "SU's" manufactured by Hitachi under license from SU. The Flat tops are a "Hitachi" design.
  21. Nice to know the people in charge of prosecuting criminals in Fulton County, GA are as efficient and trustworthy as the ones in Alameda County, CA. Makes me feel real secure :stupid:
