Yes, That be them! See how much I know about S130'S? Little to nothin. Still think they are Z's, despite the local bias. If you Aussies and Kiwis want to see what for sale in Victor's neighborhood, check out recycler.com and collectorcartraderonline

Poll: Should we prevent gallery downloads?
I voted "I don't care if they download" But what weight does that really have? To those who do care, the very fact that they "Care" means more. Speaking only for myself, I've always been flattered when a photo of my car shows up somewhere without my knowing. If you look at Classicdatsun.com in the roadster section, scroll down to the "BRE Spook" blurb, there's my car, right after I installed mine. Les's partner, Dennis, put that photo up without my permission. He did ask me after the fact, and I just thought it was cool. Hey I maybe a nobody, but my car is famous!

Stephen, I know about the 84 300ZX anniversary model. But I was (and Bill too) speaking of the black and gold 280ZX (S130) anniversary model. as to which Anniversary it commemorates, I'm at a loss. What are these?

I Love my Z
Got to admit Scott, You got soul, my brother. I get the same smile reading about your joy as I do when it's me pushing the throttle. Dam! That is poetry!

BilL is right. I see them for sale dirt cheap, with the statment, "Fuel Problem". Obviously, their Non-Z-Enthusiat owners balk at the price of an injection system overhaul and dump the car. My biggest problem with these cars iis the cloth interior. An old vinyl interior looks worn in, like a baseball glove, an old cloth interior looks like a rats nest.

In with the 280ZX Coupe
I like them, and I know saying that is taboo on this site. Too bad it's so costly to ship them down under, as there's alway a bunch for sale here in California. Nice ones for 2K and under! I've been tempted many times. Lately, there's a real pretty 25th aniversery special addition on sale for a song. Think I can find an envelop big enough to mail that sweet coupe to ya? I wonder how many stamps it would take. Can't be too tough to change it's "Left-ist" steering. could it?

San Diego Crusing?
I've participated in a couple of their organized rides, and will attest to their "Z-ness" ? "Z-ethos" ? "Z-cology" ? Let's just say, these folks really love their Datsuns. You see thier cars at the shows, and they are impressive. Then you go on a ride with them, and see the same car pushed to the limit of adheasion on a twisty mountain road and then you know you're in with the right crowd.

Les at Classic Datsun makes this color up in spray cans. I have 2 cans on order right now. If you ask him, he just calls it "Air Cleaner Blue"

Debating new wheels
Aha! Spacers! Your'e right, that does open the choices up considerably. Yes, your boat anchors do look mighty sweet. But you're also right that lightening things up is a worthwhile pursuit.

Debating new wheels
You'll feel the difference! 22lbs of boat anchor! You could get even lighter if you'd go for 15'' TE37's, down to 12lbs apeice and less costly to purchase. As a matter of fact, after looking at the sizing chart, I don't think you've got much choice except for 15X7 at 0 TE37 Sizing chart

Removing Rusted or Otherwise Stuck Nuts/Bolts
I use PB Blaster...... And a torch! I like to spray the penetrant on, then heat up the area around the fastener utill I see bubbles from under the fastener. then turn.

Good Toyota 2000GT Website (Off-topic!!)
Very nice site! Comprable to Rob Beddington's Fairlady Registry site. Loved the Racing histories! Never knew about the Shelby effort before this! Well done. Hey! I can read French better than I can speak it .

what 5spd is this?
That's an interesting site. I was speaking of Marc's transmission info site Gearing Chart Using the info: (8/78-7/79) (1st)3.321 (2nd)2.077 (3rd)1.308 (4th)1 (5th)0.864 (8/79-6/80) (1st)3.062 (2nd)1.858 (3rd)1.308 (4th)1 (5th)0.773 (7/80-6/83) (1st)3.062 (2nd)1.858 (3rd)1.308 (4th)1 (5th)0.745 In fith gear, turn the output 1 revolution, If the input only turns .745 (just before 9:00 oclock), then it has the 80-83 gearset. A little after 9:00, the 1980 gearset Just before 11:00 oclock, the early gearset

what 5spd is this?
That would work for everythig except gears. Some of the gaskets bearings and seals are shared throughout and most carried over from the earier A box to the later C boxes. With the exception of the coutershaft. But, We can find the vintage by identifing the overdrive ratio. I made a quicky Degree wheel for the input shaft and a pointer for the output. I'll look up the data I used to remember the process I used.

That's not a BW T5. Just another FS5W71B like your current bad transmission. Parts at drivetrain.com

What I did Labor day weekend.
And I thought I was the only one.. The outlet was done by progressive sanding 120, 220, 400 - then tripoli on a spiral wound buff - finished with white rouge on a pillow buff. The thremo housing was done with emory on a sisal buff, followed by tripoli on a spiral wound buff - finished with white rouge on a pillow buff. New temp sender, gland nut and gaskets from MSA, New zinc chromated hardware completes the piece
