  1. 200ZR??? Aaalllllllaaaannnnnnnnn!
  2. bwa thats nothing! Took me 4 days to clean the inside of my tail lights!!! LOL
  3. Crunch sounds like your synchros are tiring (except reverse, which doesn't HAVE a synchroniser... clunk I don't know, but I've got that too in reverse
  4. Yea, point noted! I couldn't restrain myself earlier this morning... I just HAD to go for a small drive around the back streets... Z's are addictive!!!
  5. Nah, I decided white is the go. Maybe my next Z can have black? hehe Finally got them apart - those little nuts were impossible to get and in the process I snapped the plastic pin but I've glued the pin back on with some really tough stuff so it should hold. I cleaned up both lenses as much as I could, and used some ordinary car polish which worked well. I've also painted the inside of the backing white - it's still drying. Now I've got to find some glue which will stick, but not too much that next time I want to take the tail lights apart (God forbid) I can do it without too much trouble. I take it some silicon based stuff is the best?
  6. Ya. I shall attempt it again but there is absolutely no room between the pin and the washer/nut... Painting the inside white is a good idea, perhaps I could paint them black to give a tinted effect! maybe
  7. OK I'm up to the "sheet metal blind nut" part. These things are so small and awkward - the tabs are about a millimetre wide! Fragile you say? The darn thing wont move!!! What do I do? :stupid:
  8. Damnnn looks to me like more than 2k worth of Z! Is a number-matching original 240Z really worth that little over there?
  9. Thank you immensely! I'm not sure if I want to go cleaning the whole assembly though as I dont want to remove that rubber that goes around teh whole thing. It looks VERY brittle I will attempt to remove it though Makes it seem fun - but expensive too with all those products I have to buy! Now, my little chrome thing in the middle is slightly crackled and could do with a refresh. Has anyone been successful in making these look newer with some obscure product or would I have to go to a professional to get it done (not going to happen)? Thank you so much for you input!!! I just wish Datsun had made their lenses a bit easier to get at!
  10. My left tail light is dirty from 30 odd years of exhaust fumes and it annoys me. So this afternoon I took it all apart (who would have thought gettnig a tail light out could be so difficult?) but now I'm left with tthe whole assembly on the kitchen table. I can't work out how to take it apart! How do you separate the lenses from the rest of the tail light assembly? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for how to clean them? Thanks !!

What do you think?! --- People have done 300ZX brake swaps before IIRC so they should be pretty easy to fit. Sorry that I cant give any more specific information...
  13. Darius spent big bucks on that 240... But V8 swaps can be done pretty cheaply if you know your stuff - not sure how much help you'll get here though as most of us appreciate the car for what it was meant to be not what you can make it into... Check out www.hybridz.com for a community of Zcar engine swapping enthusiasts That said, dont forget this place - the guys here haev an amazing knowledge of the Z cars expanding to more than just the engine
  14. Yes, it is VERY annoying
  15. Good point Alan... ATM I dont like it much (seems more cluttered than before!) but I'm sure I'll get used to it as time goes by. Not my choice of colour though
  16. I paid $120 USD for my 2.25" extractor-back (well I dont have extractors but what are the standard pipes from the engine called?) system with a lukey muffler, and it sounds niiiice. They quoted me an extra $120 for extractors... Admittedly though, it's a bit too loud for some of you oldies
  17. As the supply of Z's goes down, and the demand goes up, the price will inevitably go up too.

IIRC that was a 240 with a LT1... veerrrrrry nice
  19. You paid 500$ US for an exhaust system!?

I've got a story... Once near Sydney in a National Park I was running down a track (I was about 10 I think at the time) and I noticed my shoe was undone so I stopped and ducked down to do it up. Right there in front of my foot was a funnel-web spider's nest. They dig a hole in the ground IIRC? Not reeeeaally close, but it still scared the hell out of me. Those spiders are the most poisonous in Australia.
  22. Good idea - but maybe the price is a bit steep? My friend bought a domain name with free hosting of 100MB (either 100 or 10 I forget) for 85$ AUD... and that's per YEAR 10$ US per month is a large amount - but I guess if you can spare thatmuch money it's not only hosting but also a donation! Not for me though... I dont see how I could make a Z site with something that hasn't been done before...

In Australia, the late 260s came with those vents but that was it. In America, I believe only 280s did and I think they all did? No 240 had those.
  24. really!? hahhahah I didnt know that! But there are a few FWD cars which I would be quite happy to drive.. e.g. 156 GTA, FTO mivec...
