60 Amp Alternators
The fuel pump is easy to find. Just look at the gas tank behind the passenger side rear wheel. If you choose to add one, make sure it is a low flow pump. Carburetors don't need 30 PSI.

60 amp swape not charging battery
It took some effort to figure it out. I used the wiring diagrams from the 73, 75, & 81, the 75 and 81 FSMs, and the old writeup on zhome.com as references.

60 Amp Alternators
Conventional wisdom says it's an improvement. I can't tell you how much. As for the fuel pump relay issue, the power for the relay coil comes off the yellow wire. Somewhere on here, someone posted the wiring for the Nissan change. If I could find it, I could tell you where you need to look for wire. Meanwhile, are you sure you have an electric fuel pump?

60 Amp Alternators
That would be correct.

60 Amp Alternators
No, no, no. Don't rewire the fuel pump relay to the ignition. You want it to cut off if the engine stalls. That means using a diode in the right place or using an oil pressure switch.

Clock redo
I really have to meet you sometime.

60 amp swape not charging battery
Okay, let's move away from pin numbers and focus on wire colors. It took me a while, but I think I have it figured out. The White & Yellow wires should be jumpered together. The Green & White/Black wires should be jumpered together. The Black wire doesn't need to be jumpered. The Green/Red wire doesn't need to be jumpered. See if that works for you.

73 in a Colorado Junkyard
I left a comment on the thread asking him where the junkyard was.

73 in a Colorado Junkyard
I saw this at The Truth About Cars: Junkyard Find: 1973 Datsun 240Z | The Truth About Cars. Does anybody know what junkyards Murilee Martin visits? If it hasn't already been picked clean, there are a lot of good parts to be had.

Are you sure you bought an internally regulated alternator?

MSA discount for CZCC
The last time I tried (many, many years ago) they said no extra discounts on sale items.

Used Dastun Parts Sell-Off
I didn't see the wiring harness. Is it all of the wiring harness? Engine harness? Dash harness? Body harness? Also are those S30 eschuteons? If so, I'm interested.

Clock redo
Now you have me looking for 12VDC clockworks that I could put into my old clock.

3-in-1 is also available in places like Wal-Mart and Ace Hardware. It's easy to get, and it works just fine.

Caffeine and Octane - March Edition
Okay, now I remember your car. It's hard to recognize from the avatar. We met when you were fueling up your Z a Krogers at Freedom Plaza. Glad to see you made it to this forum, too.

Dog riding in hatch, not good!
Don't forget about the drain hole for the antenna. When the drain tube rots away, it no longer seals the hole in the body where the water drains out. It's hidden behind the trim panel, so not too many people think to look for it.

Caffeine and Octane - March Edition
So, Mr. Jones, are you going to try to join us some time at C & O?

i need a picture, anyone?
I have 215/60 R14s on my 260Z. That's only a little bigger than the 195/65 R14. It looks fine to me.

Caffeine and Octane - March Edition
It's my pleasure. Caffeine and Octane is my (almost) monthly indulgence. It's difficult to keep me away from it. It's quite amazing considering it's a free car show. Usually the parking lot is full by about 7:30.

Caffeine and Octane - March Edition
Despite the freezing temperatures, wind, and occasional flurries, I made it out to Caffeine and Octane. The 260Z was a little grumpy starting out since it had not been driven in about two months. However, once it got warm, it purred. I bought a better camera and went wild with the pictures. One of my fellow Georgia Z Club members gave me a set of flat-top carbs & air cleaner that he had left over from scavenging parts. I think he said they came with an N36. Here's the link to the blog post: Caffeine and Octane March 2013 | Fiddling With Z Cars I've also attached a picture of the cars of the die-hard S30 gang.

"Safety Not Guaranteed" -- a Z on Netflix
Meh, the time machine should have been made out of the Z, even if it was a 2+2.
