why dont we see gt wings on zs?
You said it there Mike. The ricers think it makes their car look faster. It kind of reminds me when we used to say that our cars seemed to run better after we washed them. ROFL

The cop I didn't see
Great story, I love when they turn out that way.

anyone think this is a 240?
Could be a Clone. I've heard that there is some "old Lady" around the Tampa Bay area that has a Black Pearl with only 16 miles on it. Sure would like to see that.

What type of tire is best
Hello all Z drivers I would like to know what type and brand of tires most of you Z heads are running on your cars. I realize that different events require different tires. So for the strip what do you find works for you and the same question goes for autocross. Has anyone found a street tire that can preform on the track and still have enough rubber to get you home? The old saying is true, there's no point in all that horsepower if you can't get it to the ground and make it stick.

Supercharger on a 280Z
If it is even possible or has anyone ever attempted to supercharge a 280Z. I've seen them on some of the newer rice rockets, but was wondering if anybody has seen this set up on any early model Z.

Thankz for the info Jeff. I am located in the Tampa bay area and need someone who know fuel injection also. Where are you in tha Sunshine State?

MSD Ignition
Hey 2ManyZ's, I am running NGK model # BR6ES plugs. Will try a larger gap. Thankz for the info. You wouldn't know of any shop with a chassis dyno who would also know how to dial it all in? I realize that you don't live in Florida but thought you might have some good contacts. I really need someone who knows about Z cars. Thankz again for your help.:classic:

MSD Ignition
Thankz 2ManyZ's, Maybe somemore info is needed to determine the problem. Just to let you know I have not had the car dyno tuned because I don't have enough miles on the engine.Anyways this is my set up: Mallory Unilite Distributer,Crane PS40 Fireball coil, MSD 8.5mm plug wires on NGK plugs gapped at .035. Timing seems to be OK but the car seems to load up when at idle. Maybe I need to step on it real good from time to time to blow out the carbon. What do you think:cross-eye :cross-eye

MSD Ignition
Just wanted to know if anyone out there has installed a MSD system to their Z? I have a 77 280 with some engine mods done. Here they are. 40 overbore with flat top pistons.Schnieder 460 cam, ported , polished and refprofiled head. I also installed a rising rate fuel regulator. The engine runs fine but I am not completely burning all the fuel, car runs very rich and I mean rich. Would something on the line of a MSD system correct this problem? If so what would one recommend and how hard would this mod be?

Windsheild Wiper Polarity
Thanks Daniel, that's what I thought the probelm was, but I was listening to someone who drives Fords, tee, hee. Will try to correct the problem this weekend Have a great Turkey Day

Windsheild Wiper Polarity
The windsheild wipers work, but in the "off" position they are upright on the windshield. I've been told that the wiper motor needs to have the polarity reversed. If this is true, how is this done and is it a pain in the a.. to correct.

Cylinder Compression
The '77 280Z has been tested at 215 PSI. Needless to say this car is far from stock. The engine has about 1500 miles on it so I really don't think it's ready for the dyno yet. Can't wait to find out the results when the "ZRush" is dyno'ed. Thanks for the info on the '72

Cylinder Compression
Does anyone out there have an idea what the cylinder compression on a bone stock 1972 240Z would be. The engine is now broken in with just a little over 3000 miles on it. This yellow rocket is one of those "Factory Restored" Z cars.

Car Cover - Any Thoughts
Do some heavy duty research on this my friend. Many car cover makers claim to have water and mildew resistant covers, but that is rarely true. I suggest checking out a high end car dealer and see what they have to offer for their cars. We have a Lexus cover on the ZRush and it's a $500.00 plus cover and well worth the money since we have a very expensive paint job on the car. This cover is water PROOF and lets the car breath at the same time. We've never had any sign of mildew in the car whatsoever and we live in Florida! The car is kept in the garage anyway. Move to Florida and avoid that pesky snow season.

Does the window frame adjust?
Speaking of the window frame on the door. How many other fellow Z owners are missing the little end caps that go on the end of that door window frame. The 72 240 I have has one side with the metal rounded off and the other side has a black end cap. The 77 280 has black end caps on both windows. I 've never really even noticed these things until some bozo said "Uh did ya know yer missin' a part off yer winder frame" Oh well this missing part doesn't slow my red Z down a bit!

Name That Car (?)
If we could read the logo on the rims, that might help. To Blurry to tell. Probably an Italian car since most are either red, silver or black. Thank God it's not a Z and that all that matters!
