  1. if it is similar to the 240 units remove the light cover and it should be very easy to see if the spring is in there if not< or the housing is broken> an easy find on ebay or junk yard
  2. if the motor wasn't stored correctly , you will need to check for rust or corrosion in the cylinders , there are threads on this issue on the page good luck
  3. Datto check you pms , sent you some info might help
  4. the Palm Beach Barrett - Jackson Auction shows a 1970 240z lot number 322 just for info for anyone , gonna try and go down for the auction myself and window shop , but just thought some might be interested , the 260z from the Arizona auction shows to have brought 5300 , love to see more up there to increase the interests and desire to restore them
  5. I think your best bet and investment is the z therapy video on su's or the z tuneup guide <which I got > , the tune up guide showed everything on tuning them and tearing them down for yearly cleaning , check ebay for unisync but they are worth the $$ make it much easier , good luck

honestly try recutting another from what is left , the paperboard material shouldn't be too hard to find i might have an intact one in my garage if you need pics, haven't heard of anyone making new ones
  13. top speed as in stock or not stock? non stock FHP had me clocked at a tad higer than that:finger: and cost me plenty:love:
  14. if you do decide to drive , bring a set of points and a guage, just in case , for the 10-15 bucks it will cost extra buy a new belt for the alternator, make sure you have a good set of metric tools a cell phone and charger , and some type of towing plan , maybe one those bobble head Taco bell dogs , that wouldn't help much but would be funny as hell if you break down, hope you trip goes well good luck
  15. I love ebay when it come to buying and selling z stuff because you normally deal with a select group of people that truly enjoy their cars and understand the same about you , but on the other hand I also deal with other import parts and for the most part they are all good buyers but I find the younger buyers bid without concern some other people feel you should jump through hoops of fire like a small poodle for them , rarely do I deal with anyone that doesn't take paypal , mainly because I am covered as a buyer , I have read too many times on , I think its Zcar.com about scammers that list stuff take money and don't ship or never had the item. I would only sell to members of this webclub only because I wouldn't feel comfortable otherwise.
  16. I also was it in for a bit but I was hoping no one would see what it was,:tapemouth but I guess I am not the only one who searches on ebay all day to , was really a kew deal considering it had part it needed to make it work , but still alot for untested .
  17. should vote several times , 2 1972 240's and one 71 , presently only one 72 left in a state of semi drivable state < getting ready for body shop work when I get the bugs out of it but often my brothers 74 also graces my driveway , I want to see 2manyz's run down of his garage:D
  18. I read a sport compact car article and it was like 75lb with a complete a/c unit, not sure i would due to the heat aspect

I thought prairie-dogging was something else
  23. hhm i second the last remark your honor
  24. the car is a 72 , its painted guards red and the bumpers were zinced and primed to take paint , it was painted in june-august of 1987 pics taken on oct 87 , the whale tail was a toss up at the time when I bought the car<it was already on it> , if I had to redo it merely months after having the car repainted it would have been without the tail<always seems to crack>, I can get pics of my brothers 74 < broken74 > he doesn't have bumpers presently, it is lowered as well , all the chrome was removed and painted black, I sold the car to buy one with a/c , a bmw 3 series at the time , probably the worst mistake I have ever made, but I prefer z's with bumpers <minus guards> and with either a bre spoiler or nothing, which my 72 I have now will be
  25. hhm Classic , I think if you compare other notable production cars that are considered classics you will find they started a long notable production run and race history as well as a body style or name that causes a stir within people who admire them and to the owners. maybe not all of the above but atleast one, the k car wasn't produced for 25 years nor was it raced ,the corvette, mustang, mgb, jaguar and mini was as well as many other classic production units, < production meaning they made enough where if you wanted to buy one you could , not a 71 aar cuda hemi or mako corvette> but the whole line of that car, but I agree most above all else its the love of the car weither you own one or not most people ask about your z if you drive it around town , my brother has been stopped several times to have questions asked or once to have a father tell his son how he used to have one, classic yes to many , but to me it still my baby like a tall striking model or a short bland woman you love her either way
