I have a exhaust leak from the smog crap it rusted a hole in the pipes that come up from the manifold , any thoughts , msa their header or the monza from bv , both very close in price I was considering the 3 to 2 to one from msa anyone has good or bad on them and the exhuast the monza as opposed to the targa? Hey I have a 72 240 with the round top , 3 screw carbs , is there any known issues with using these carbs with the 260z intake n36 or a nonwater type intake , trying to eliminate all the hoses on the intake , thanks Jeff:stupid:

ok just got back from the keys should have been working on the z but you gotta do what you gotta do , i took off the retaining pin from the float valve , the valve was stuck i got it instuck and the top portion little nipple looking thing with the spring came out , cleaned it up and reassembled , not leaking fuel from the line anymore , a bit now from the gasket that i have destroyed , any feedback on the rebuild kits from BV , I have heard little about them , but all has been positive, didn't know it the Ztherapy was wortht the 125 more , car still turns like it wants to start but fuel starved, gonna it hit tomarrow with a few more edumacated people , got fire so I assume its carbs and from the condition of the valve which i assume closes when the float raises it might all be needed attention before it will fire or run . love to hear more input especially with the rebuild kits

Ok I have good news finally, me and my bro got the linkage free they return completely without assitance , and we got the car to fire with the choke on DUH , I know no need to say it , but it was still pouring gas out like Zoolander gas station sceen so we stopped til we fix the leaking prob or get a overflow tank, the front carb float level was like 1/4 to 1/3 full of gas where the one that is leaking is almost completele full when we took the covers off again , when you squeeze the line going from the bottom on the float tank the gas goes up and down so at that point it isn't clogged , by the way put a coil in as well , not sure if it was the prob but my bro had a spare , any thoughts?

well i am still leaking , put in a new condensor and cleaned the terminals on all that i could find and the clips , Chino on your car you have both overflow hoses from the carbs joined together and from where do they go? I am gonna have a friend of my dads who is an electrical engineer come over and check out my stuff before i spend more , he fixed my bro 260 in like 2 minutes , when you know what you are doing you sure look good

I checked the floats and its ok , but i took out a spark plug and held it the firewall and turned over the motor and didn't get any spark , just put plugs cables cap rotor and points in , could a condesor stop it from running?

the car is not running presently I am getting no fire yet i just checked the ignition and i sprayed starting fluid up in the carbs and all it did was run out , it sounded like a car that was out of fuel , it has sat for 2 years and not run and the fuel running out of the carbs was a sign to check them first

Ok i checked the piston for lack of a better term in the carbs and raised them and they lowered by themselves but when you use the accelerator using petal or manually on the manifold the carbs stick and do not return , big issue or not with reguard to the carbs

the air horns fit inside the k&n filter with no probs? , awsome looking setup , by the way did you have ztherapy do your intake as well?

when checking the floats just unscrew the four top screws and thats it ? should i remove the gas line first and if the float is stuck i assume its at the bottom?

Am i postponing a rebuild here? should i just take them off and rebuild them fully or is this pretty common ? The car has sat for like 2 years , got the car to turn over but won't fire yet

My 72 240 had su carbs , on the top of the carbs there are two hoses coming out one is from the fuel rail and the other goes to the factory aircleaner . When I try and start the car fuel pours from the rear carb where the hose goes into the aircleaner ,I have tried to insert a pic . not sure if it worked. These are the only to fuel style lines from the top of the carbs . And only the one closest to the fire wall is doing this . As a bit of info the car hasn't been ran in about two years , I just replaced all of the ingition and starter < thanks to all who helped with that issue> and does have the smog pump hooked up <which I want to remove with all that crap > Please any helps thanks Jeff

hey I wanted to say thanks to all , i found my guilty part which was the starter, now it turns over and i am now in a quest to get the carbs rebuilt any suggestions? my brother suggested ztherapy , any good or bad about them?

Hey all any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 72 240 and I just recently got it and it had sat for quite awhile like 2 years . I put a new battery in it and went to try to start it and it just makes clicking noises from the passenger side firewall. The relay switch i figured out. I tried to jump the car just in case there was any bad battery connections but it just clicks then as well. It does not click from the engine bay and all the lights and interior stuff work so i know its getting power. Any suggestions? And also does the 72 have alot more wiring in thengine bay than a 71 ??
