  5. Looks lean. Go to 4.5 turns down and leave floats alone.
  6. 1. remove the plug wire from centre of distributor and have friend hold metal conductor 3mm from bolt on strut tower and look for spark when you crank. 2. Pour fuel into the two carb fuel bowls through their vent hoses. 3. Attach plug wire then start. If battery dies, jumper +to+ and -to- from a running car to help crank.

  12. You would be better off listening to the mechanics and not bother taking advice from anyone on this forum. We are just old-school and not up to snuff on the new technology that they are trained on.
  13. Good decision. What do we know anyhow.

Sounds like head gasket. When cold, remove radiator cap and crank engine. It may blow like a geyser if the head gasket is only sealing when hot. If nothing at start then let the car come up to temp with rad cap off.
  16. Excerpt from Kat's video. Sometime in fall 1969. I am guessing first week of October or first week of November. http://www.240260280.com/History/Testing/Testing%20NA/Fall1969BRECalifornia.mp4 @kats
  17. Pre-Oct 25, 1969. Anyone know the drivers or track?

A quick check would be to look at plugs so see if a chamber is drinking it... also check oil for chocolate milk. You can rig up a rad cap to take an air line (or buy one of those pressure test kits with one) and pressurize the system with 13psi. You may be able to hear the leak.
  19. Coat it with copper antiseize on both sides when installing.
  20. The vinyl roof style may come from their first attempt to save the 1500 from Nader and stricter safety rules in the USA by adding a Coupe roof. SP310 with Fitted Hard Top, August 1966

  22. Two years on and still miss him.... something for your garage wall:
  23. Your calipers have more piston area than stock thus the longer stroke required. A 15/16th master will bring the stroke to less the 10% of stock stroke to achieve the same braking force. If the reaction disk has fallen then your required stroke range will be compromised.
  24. What is the diameter of the master brake cylinder? How many pistons are in each brake and what are their diameters? There are some brake systems designed for no master-vac (depending on the ratios of pushing piston to pushed pistons) so if one it used then you will get instant braking.
