  1. What's the VIN on that parts car and what do you have left of it (pix would be great)? I'm always on the lookout for good parts.
  2. Interesting! Our cars are 1 month apart and only 942 VINs between us.
  3. What is left of these two? Do you have pix? I have an early car and can always use some parts... :classic:
  4. Thanx for the correction. You can add these to my list also: Rally clock assy (2 pieces) Fog/auxillary lights
  5. Do you have a link to the solution on Hybridz?
  6. JDM front grill for 240Z JDM tail lights JDM valve covers (NISSAN, the 2400 one, etc)
  7. Yes Judi, where are you?
  8. I looked in my box and there are no installation instructions. I was really wanting to share the info... Sorry guys.
  9. Yes, thank you for the lead...I placed my bid yesterday as well.
  10. I do have my entire music collection ripped to MP3. This does make the decision as to what to put on the iPod a bit more difficult, I just chose my favorites and put them in my playlist, my wife chose her's and put them in her play list, we put all the kid's music in their playlist, I have an audio book playlist where I rotate audio books, and a couple other playlists for specific items such as motivational that stay on there all the time. Any of these playlists may be changed on a whim or as our tastes change or we get tired of the songs on the iPod (hard to get tired of this many songs though since this is a far greater variety than the radio plays) etc. WOW! I must say that I'm impressed you can hear the difference through such low fidelity 'speakers' most can not...including me. You probably were in band or otherwise tied very tightly to music at some point to have developed that level of listening skill (just based upon past person's I have known who have also had a really good ear for sound quality). My songs where not downloaded, they are all from my music collection which I ripped to MP3 though that was a time consuming process when I did it a few years back. Why did I do this? 1) backup! I have lost a few irreplacealbe CDs due to a car theft and do not wish to repeat this so my originals stay safe and sound at home these days (also just in case a CD gets scratched I now have a backup). 2) I have a webserver hosting all these songs so I can listen to them anywhere I have an internet connection (used before the iPod was introduced). 3) I have them all on my fileserver at home and from there they are served up to my arcade in the game room which has an ejukebox software program on it (VERY cool system!!). Listening to the radio is fine and I do still do so often. Though the one down fall to that is on a long trip you have to constantly search for new stations and in the back roads there are not always good stations that come in. Furthermore, I have a VERY broad taste in music (rap, rock, alternative, hip-hop, dance, top 40, classical, electronica, big band, etc) and there is no station I have ever heard of that covers all of this...my iPod does. Tomo clarified this already. What player will play a dual layer DVD in a car? Some of the newest all-in-one style units with the video screen probably. I have not see any though I have not been shopping for car audio in quite some time now. Even 5 CDs can be distracting to unload and load while driving (get a CD changer that will play MP3s). I'm gonna go listen to my iPod while doing the DEW now just for the hell of it!!! While I agree that a portable DVD player has it's place it's not the right solution for me in this situation. Isn't it wonderful that there are so many products on the market that there's bound to be the right one for everyone's needs/tastes/desires! :cheeky: I also just want to say that I do have a true iPod so that is my expeience. Though when I say iPod it can be assumed that this is a 'generic' term, much like when people say "hand me a Kleenex" they do not specifically mean that brand it could be Puffs or "I'm going Rollerblading" what they really mean is in-line skating, and as such ANY portable MP3 is acceptable.
  11. Would love it except that you do not live near me and S&H to Texas zip 78613 is probably cost prohibitive.
  12. As zack and jmortensen has illustrated there are brackets included in the kit for mounting without drilling or cutting. I'll see if I can dig out the install instructions and scan them then post the PDF here to help show this. I should have been a little more clear instead of just saying "mounting hardware".
  13. I have over 1000 songs on my iPod, do you have any idea how many CDs I'd have to lug around for this variety!? Furthermore, I can listen to my iPod anywhere...in my car, at the office, while running or moutain biking (try that with a CD!), in the air port, on a plane, in hotel rooms, and the list goes on. It is a convience issue no doubt. And frankly when listening to audio through head phones you will not notice the difference in quality between a CD and am MP3 file due to the limitations of the head phones (read speakers) so why the hell not an MP3 player then.
  14. Correct, that's why the ST kit is recommended for the early cars as it comes with all the mounting hardware thus no cutting nor drilling is necessary. I have one in the box sitting under the rear of my early 240Z waiting for me to get around to working on the car again.
  15. Thank you for the post, I'm looking at their 3.1L stroker myself. :devious:
  16. VERY COOL!! Puts a smile on my face every time I see someone recognizing the 240Z in this way.
  17. That sounds right to me too.
  18. I do not believe this to be the case at all. The '70 and '71 cars are much lighter and had pretty much the same equipment. I believe that we can all agree that the '73 may be considered the worst if for nothing else the blasted flat-top carbs! Much of this will simply be one's own opinion.
  19. If you think so then you need to look at the series I features that are on many of the '71 (series II) models. It's not that clear cut as has been pointed out and discussed heavily on this board in the past. My 10/70 production date is a '70 with all of the series I spec parts/features. I know of others that have 10/70 production cars that are titled as '71. The same goes for 11/70 production cars and even some 9/70 production cars. It had a LOT to do with shipping, port delays, and what the dealer decided to do (i.e. call it a '71 so they could charge the new higher price). Do a search on this forum and also read up on zhome and you will find all kind of information on this topic. Also, there is a thread on here where people have listed their VINs and some included production dates, this is a good way to see how blured the line is.
  20. It could go either way as this is about the time of year when the year model was being changed. There is a lot of discussion on this topic so I'd recommend a quick search and start reading if you are interested in this aspect of the Z history.
  21. Look through the feedback that you two exchanged this would be the only way you will find who you bought it from unless you have your old emails from the transaction. eBay only keeps closed auctions in their system for 90 days.
  22. Beandip, they are 4 screw. Do you have more information on this, I really know very little about the carbs. Also, it was sticking prior to my hitting it with carb cleaner. Before removing the dome is there anything I should know or have on hand (i.e. drain anything, new gaskets, etc)?
  23. I have a little knowledge about the SU carbs and have a question. My front carb seems to work properly the issue is my rear one. When I lift the piston up it does not feel the same as the front nor does it seem to drop quite the same, further when it is lifted all the way up it sticks and does not drop at all...I have to open the filler on the top of the dome and tap it before it drops. I have already sprayed carb cleaner in through the air horn and that seemed to only help just ever so slightly. Any thoughts, ideas, HELP!? Please....
  24. Has anyone had any luck with nice battery hold downs for an Optima battery in a 240Z yet? I am starting my search for one.
