There's a rod inside the door that might have slipped off or even broken off, not allowing it to open. Best thing to do is remove the door panel carefully, dont worry about the worn plastic backing. You can replace that easily. roll the window so you can access the mechanism. you'll need some open ended and closed end wrenches and you'll scrape some knuckles but it's doable. this might be a good time to replace those old door handles. you can get thme on ebay for like 70 bucks a pair for brand new pair. good luck Nick

  3. Saturday was indeed a long day for all of us. I thought the whole event was well run, but i had only a few small complaints. When we entered the parkign lot for the car show, there seemed to be a bit of confusion on where to park. I had my stock 280z to get judged by ZCAA (it didnt happen, more on that later) but no one seemed to know where the street mod and the stocks were lining up. Very obscure. I parked in like 3 diff places before finding a spot. Also I entered as a stock but i guess i should entered as a street mod because of my mag wheels. I'm used to the MSA Show where you can enter stock 280z's with aftermarket wheels. anyway, the banquet was really fun, lot of laughs and it was great to see everybody. Mr K was very inspirational in his words and so was Matsuo-san, Very classy gentlemen. food was actually pretty decent. I thought the awards show was a bit too long at the end. EVERY sponsor had to pick up a trophy and it seemed like it went on and on and on. It was 10:15 and I told my wife "Let's sneak out." we were both exausted and still had a an hour plus ride ahead. I think the sponsor recognition should be abreviated in some way. all in all a great time for all! Nick
  4. the restoration program story. My reason: That carpet is not the original style carpet used in the Datsun Restoration Program. or else it would have the holes and serge-bounding for the luggage straps. I believe Classic Datsun out San Diego was one company Nissan used to restore and they supply the original 240 carpet. This carpet looks like a simpel carpet kit from MSA. my 2 cents. Nick
  5. That groove is just left plain and serves no real purpose, just to collect more dirt i guess. I replaced my foil with this chrome foil tape sold in a large rool at Ace Hardware. It's very pliable and looks great. About 4 bucks for the roll. I tried looking for the thinner stuff for models that everyone talks about but i could never find it at ANY hobby store.

It was a bad fuel injector, the one closest to the front. Thanks for the replies

  8. My car starts ONLY in N, but that's because my bushings are worn out and i need to replace them:cry:
  9. $175.00 for the set! plus shipping. PM me if youre interested
  10. They will NOT cover if you are driving ANYWHERE except for a Sunday cruise or going to club functions or shows. I tried to get Hagerty and they wouldnt cover me even if i went to the store! I take my Z to work about twice a week and they wouldnt cover me for that!!!! READ the fine print carefully, or else you can find yourself HIGH and DRY! Nick

so i know there's prob some 78 colors not listed
  12. See my gallery, i re did my taillight finishers on my 280z and i didnt have to take them off. Nick, PS i used flat black, but do it in two light coats and be sure to mask everything off CAREFULLY
  13. of people bidding way too high on stuff you can order online for a third of the price.
  14. I tried to get hagerty and they were VERY strict on where you drove the car. basically, you have to be out for a Sunday drive OR going to a car show. I'm sure if you get in an accident doing ANYTHING else, they will not pay out on ANYTHING! my .02
  15. If you come with your club, I will be coming with the GroupZ contingent and we'll all try to park there together. i was in line by 730 and we still got on the main street over by the Group Z people. I notice Arizona and Desert Z always get to park together. This show is getting REALLY big , hence the far reaching parkin spots. Nick
  16. Look in the FOR SALE section. For pics look in my Gallery. $250 OBO for the set. comes with lugs and Z caps, Nick
  17. This thing look like it's been sitting out in a field for about 10 years! Better check the interior for dead mice!
  18. I figured they wee either of those brands, cant find any markings.
  19. These are my old wheels that were on my 280z before i replaced them with aluminum mags. I don't know too much about them. Here's what i do know: Set of four 14x6 Turbine-style wheels. Not sure of manufacturer Comes with all 16 lugs (decent shape) Plus ALL four Z caps as you see in the photo in My Gallery, Page 2 The tires have decent tread on them I'm not sure of the brand of tires but they are 195s I can have the tires removed at buyer's expense I will ship to the lower 48. I'm in So. California These wheels are straight as far as I know. I ran them fine on my 280z from when i purchsed the car in Nov. 2002 to Sept. 2003. The inside is painted a flat black but they can be painted to match any scheme. They could use a good polishing. I'd like to get $200 for the whole package but I'll consider offers. Thanks for your time, Nick PS Any more questions, please PM me! Thanks
  20. you could buy Prestone flush fluid in a miniature bottle as you described. I used to use this in my 73 in the early 80s and it was very simple. I never see that in stores anymore so i'm not sure if they still manufacture it.
  21. Those wheels alone look to be worth 200 to 250! Of course, its the stuff underneath that needs the most attention eh?
  22. That's what most ppl are saying: sounds like the heat is causing the starter to go bad. Or at least making it starting to go bad. Thanks for the help! I might try the heat shield first. the battery cables are about a year old. starts great when cold.
  23. I was under the impression, the MSA weatherstripping was ALL Precision brand. If they sold OEM Nissan w/s, the cost would be much higher!
  24. This is what my z does, i get off the freeway after my 40 mile commute, stop to get a bite and park for like 5-7 mins. I come back out to start it up and she barely turns over. The engine is very warm, but not overheated. The battery eventually gets it to start but it sounds like it's ready to give out. Battery is about 18 months old, previous owner installed it. Does this ever happen to anyone?? P.S. When i come out to start it cold, it's fine!
