  1. Yes fill it, your gears are far more important than a little leak. A leak from any car is frowned upon now but back in day when these cars were new there was a foot wide black oil streak down the center of every lane in North America, virtually every car dripped something and that was normal.

Oh, I have to give up the Z to get this other car? No thanks. In addition to the Z, sure I'd like a BMW Z8 or one of the newer Ford GT40 Corvettes have never done it for me but that new mid engine Vette looks very promising.
  3. Looking forward to it, at the moment I have a 280z clam shell cover on my 72 that I ground down and filed to fit, looks terrible.
  4. PM sent, that is a smoking deal.

Hi Bob, welcome back. Your newly rebuilt L28 will drop in and fit perfectly with very few if any problems. As ZH mentioned you will have to rig the L28 Ex manifold or header to the other exhaust system. Always a good idea to clean up the engine bay now that you have a chance. We love lots of pics
  6. All I can say is it worked for me.
  7. I like it! I was just about to start building my paint booth out of 2x4" but the adult Meccano looks a lot easier to tear down afterward.
  8. Glad I could help. I don't have access to a transmission at the moment to look at but I think the trans oil can get back to the ball and socket on the shifter and shifter rod. I always pack the ball and socket with bearing grease then cover with the shifter boot to keep the grit out.
  9. That's very possible considering how difficult those ring clips are to install.
  10. Any r180 or r200 I've ever opened has had a paper gasket just like the one they still sell.
  11. Kinda looks like the old starfighter, they have one at the Hamilton war plane museum, me in my 1st Z
  12. I would love to be there at the first Z car show you take it to and watch the faces as they try to figure out what is different about your car.

Wouldn't that be great to be able to roll down the quarter windows and get that look anytime? Probably wouldn't be that hard to customize it so the quarter windows were removable. Need to start a new project.

    Now that's the real deal!
  15. Never use Crescent wrenches! I think they were just invented as gifts for Fathers Day. If possible, break the nut with a socket wrench first before using an open ended.

Hard to come by at any price, but if you need them you gots to have them.
  17. It's probably a good idea to loosen that nut, pull the line out and examine the seats, nut and line. It could just be the nut is loose but you might as well have a look at everything.
  18. That's why they look familiar, I have a 2lb residual pressure valve for my rear brakes.
  19. Congratulations Woody, the engine/exhaust sound great! There is a real crisp response to the throttle, those first few drives after finishing are just the best.
  20. A friend of just bought a box of Z items, brake MC, proportioning valves, calipers, etc. I recognize everything in the box except these 3 little wigets, a spring on one end connected to a hard rubber cylinder with a soft rubber tab at the end. They look familiar but I'm stumped.
  21. That's a very interesting heat shield you have mounted, what is it made from?
  22. The Zstory will be night and day compared to that strangled exhaust you have been using, really is a beautiful piece of work that header.

Strange that the PO left the diving board bumper on the front and did such nice custom work to remove the rear bumper.

Too easy, but I sure wanted to answer one of the questions with Scram Jet.
  25. I believe all you need is a drive shaft from any R200 diff car, so the drive shaft from a 280 should do the job.
