  1. Thank you Mike, Now I have got you, I thought very early like yours and Chris's car do not have the long vertical plate on the back, but they have it, right? The test cars must be HLS30-00004 and 00005, I guess after these cars got the change. My 01/70 Z432 and 03/70 240Z both have the spring and the ordinaly fuel door. kats
  2. Hello, I do not think many people out side Japan would be interested in this, but I would like to share this,PS30-00011 is still owned by an gentleman since 1978. Recently I managed to obtain the registration data at 1978 from a Z fanatic,I was surprised that PS30-00011 was sold and registered. A few days ago my friend has got an e-mail from the current owner, the owner is exactly the same man whos name was in the list at 1978. The owner told my friend the 00011 has been garaged and disassembled to restore, but still needs lots of time to complete. I am curious which car was assembled earlier between PS30-00011 and S30-00011 and HLS30-00011 and HS30-00011. kats
  3. Hi, I did not know about the spring and no-spring door hinge. Only I have been interested in at very early car's door has no extra plate, while other cars have rectangular extra plate to attach the hinge. See the attached pictures, one is from a R&T Jan 1970,the other from How to restore your Datsun 240Z ,Wick Humble. And I review old film from the test drive in the U.S and CANADA in late 1969,http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz903/films.html Open the link and click 5th from the top "On the highway" at the gas station the man closing the fuel door, and the fuel door was acting as "no-spring" , what do you think of it? kats
  4. Thank you Mike, Jim Oh my, that attached error tells us "you can see it only in Japan" ..... This site has a lots of old car's film , "11PM" was introducing some nice cars from late 60s and 70s in Japan.Toyota 2000GT, skyline, Mitsubishi GTO, e.t.c. and some import cars. I have to find some good way to show all of you outside Japan... kats
  5. Hi Carl, I hope you can see it, the link directs you viewing immediately. Or regional matter? Thank you purplemonkey, you were able to see it, were not you? Both of you are in Florida, how about other regions? kats
  6. Hi, Have you watched these already? http://www.dai2ntv.jp/player/index.html?item_id=NtvI00007911 http://www.dai2ntv.jp/player/index.html?item_id=NtvI00013902 http://www.dai2ntv.jp/player/index.html?item_id=NtvI00013903 My friend told me this web site, some nice old TV show "11PM" which every young people watched in Japan. I think this 240ZG in this film has just made a debut to the public ,this part was titled "CAR GUIDANCE" might be around late 1971.You can see fresh 175HR14 too. Also the Safari winner car,I can not believe Nissan let them drove that important car!The car might be soon returned from the rally. kats
  7. Hi Alan, I remember you have driven the car,was it 2001? That year I met you in Fuji speedway that is why I remember. I sent an e-mail to you,I hope volcanic ash clear up soon and I can fly to LHR. kats
  8. I am so exhausted,I put all the chassis number on the map. Hello xs10shl, Do you find your number? I think so too, and I think japanese people do not have enough space to park multiple cars especially in a big sity.Expensive taxes may effect too, and moisture. We can not expect a lot of survivers in Japan. But 100 Z432s out of some 400 production,it is a quite good number than other old cars is not it? Hi Chris, thank you and how are you doing and your cars? kats
  9. Thank you esprist, I have not flown to L.A. recently, but maybe in May or June. Could you hold the wonderful hoses for me? esprist, now there is a good daily driver Z432 is on sale for JPY 7,875,000 This car used to belong to a chairman of CLUB S30. What do you think of this car? http://www.flexnet.co.jp/detail/kn/3453546799/ 342 Z432s in 1978, how about now? My friend Mr.Watanabe have been tracking down existing Z432 in his web, he have found currently 100 Z432s are registered in Japan. However it may contain slightly old info,I know one of them is now in California and I have heard the other was purchased by Australian gentleman. kats
  10. Hello, for someone interested Z432/Z432-R, I recently have got the very interesting data seat from a gentleman. This gentleman was given this data by someone in 10 years ago.He said the man who gave this data was a serious fanatic of Z432/Z432-R. The paper listed all of the owner of Z432 including Z432-R in Japan. This paper has date 24th APR 1978 must be printed out/prepared by employee of Nissan dealer somewhere in Japan. Japan has 47 prefecutres, this data shows each prefecture's owners detail. I can not show them directly here because I am told not to do so by the gentleman. The listing shows owners name, adress, chassis number, registration date, expire date, etc.etc. Anyway they are old data, it was AT 1978...but what a wonderful thing is there was at least one fanatic there, and he did try to search every single Z432/Z432R for his dream. Please see the attached picture,I tried to show the data by my hand. kats
  11. Hello everyone, I am sorry I did not reply for those nice inputs. Thank you Koalia , z-spec , those are wonderful story. ajmcforester,my Z432's Dunlop is still available like Michelin XWX.It is a bit expensive for 14inch wheel, but I really like the looks. You can buy it from U.K. via internet.I got them in Japan ,Dunlop Japan is selling them(I think shipped from U.K.) kats

Thank you Mike, Here are some pictures of the side bolt, this yellow car is PS30-00013,pictured in late 1969 then showed up on 01/1970 magazine. This car has the bolts on each side, how about HLS30-00013? If HLS30 does not have the bolts, can I say PS30-00013 would be earlier than her? kats

Thank you Mike, That helped me a lot, quite high number of early cars do not have the one,but special one.Very nice clear pictures, thank you. So these bracket can not be the good sign of super early car. How about "no-hood bumper" ? One more good point of super early car,is the side bolt of a head lamp case. I want to know how many cars do they have this bolt? See this picture. kats
  14. Hi Carl, Last October, at the dinner Mr.Yoshida and Mr.Tamura they both agreed that Mr.Tamura did final body styling of the S30, Mr.Yoshida told us about Mr.Tamura's great job when they were joined the project. Carl, that statement was from Mr.Yoshida.I think Mr.Yoshida does not know Fiberglass body was made in Nissan or not. I see Mr.Yoshida's sketche, I think he draw this car from CSP311, front section looked same. For me, A550-X has same front section oriented CSP311 which was designed by Mr.Kimura. As I told before, CSP311 was designed by Mr.Kimura. Mr.Goertz joined CSP311project after completion of its styling.Mr.Goertz did change around C piller section. That is the only work by him which influenced to styling. I think Mr.Goertz borrowed CSP311 front styling for A550-X:) kats

Hi Joe, Akemashite omedeto gozaimasu! S30-00002 has not have news to tell us so far, I still can not make a trip to look into the car's detail. One thing I have heard recently from a man who worked for Nissan, it was common in Nissan Shatai (manufacture) stamping duplicate chasiss number for test assembling. Like 00002 or some super early number would have been used again, they thought no-problem because those numbered car never be able to get out the factory anyway, they (real 00002 and duplicate 00002) are test cars. This is just my thought,I think this car is not 1969/ S30-00002. I think in 1971 they made this car and stamp S30-00002 on the firewall. One of the big reason is , the bracket for the master vac hose under the chassis number. This 00002 has it, but if you look really carefully into 1969 cars( I do not know the VIN but cars like on the manuals) does not have this bracket. I saw HLS30-00013 does not have this bracket but it has a special bracket near the window washer tube. PS30-00013 is still exist in Japan and it is the same, no bracket but a special bracket.Even no hood bumpers. Yes you may say the bracket was welded later, but.... And the chassis number, it is too neat to be an early car. See the picture of PS30-00009 , this is a good example of super early car. No bracket for the master vac hose and not-neat numbers. kats PS:Remember, when this 00002 was found in the dismantle yard, the shop owner did not want to sell the car.I have heard he said "I can not tell anything about this car" Some story must behind there. kats

Hi S30TRBO, He is a very nice guy and I was surprised that 3 S20 engined cars were shipped to his garage at same time, what a wealthy man he is. I was thinking selling my Zs to someone, I found him he would have be the man. I offered him selling my Z432 and 240Z( and 1989 Silvia) but current exchange rate is bad for him, and I hesitated to selling my cars,so the deal was not made. His Z432 is PS30-00037, a real 1969 Z432:) kats
  20. Hello esprist, I have been waiting those for a long time,I buy them and I will throw my old 30+ years NOS ones to ebay without any regret. Thank you:) kats
  21. Thank you Z CAR 77, BTW,this car is a taboo,I think.But some one may want.A real 2000GT costs 25000000 JPY, this car 2500000 JPY, it is 1/10 price. http://www.goo-net.com/usedcar/spread/goo/12/0100100102A4003376003.html kats
  22. :)Thank you Jim Please try another videos of S20 engine by someone, every engine has different sound,it is fun to see. The blue Z432 in Related videos has OEM air cleaner and OEM Exhaust manifold, but custom made center and rear exhaust system and,it has got 2500cc.The sound is different. kats

  24. Thank you Carl, I saw your baja 240Z in a book store nere my house,"Nostalgic Hero".Congratulations!! Hi Ian, That day 31th was a special day for all of Nissan fans, there was a forum of car design of Nissan at Hiratsuka city art museum.Lots of old sketches , tools of car design, clay models, and cars were displayed. And what a special was, talking about historical car design by designers. I was not there, I missed it so much (Ian you would also) there were lots of important people of Nissan car design, Mr.Kimura (CSP311) was there and, Mr.Kimura's talking was just great. He told CSP311 was his design, after completion of its styling , Mr.Goertz joined the project. Mr.Goertz did change rear quater piller shape. Other body styling was "my design". kats
