This is a one for Japanese S30 cars whoes bonnet has this on its top right coner. kats

Thank you LeonV:classic: I proceed to modify my later bonnet for earliest style, Mr.Tasaka is doing the operation. The later bonnet has a big hole each side of the catch mechanism and also has a small hole each side of the bonnet. This later bonnet also has a reinforcement each side of the corner,so first of all, they needed to be taken off. I think the most difficult part is cutting around holes and welding seat metal to be looked flat surface. Has anyone tried this operation? I will show progress of this mission. kats

Hi, I am learning new everyday.I found my Z432 did not have brackets for harnesses the one for oil pressure and the other for water temp. I noticed it when I saw my friend's Z432. I asked Mr.Ando as usual ,he made replicas for me. I installed them today and looked great. kats

Gear driven system provides much stronger and fatter sound than original chain system. Very smooth and properly tuned S20 is just like a music instrument. kats

Just a note, Z432 has a "grape fruit cut" alternator too! But not Hitachi, it is a Mitsubishi. Z432 was built with a Mitsubishi electrical system such as distributer/ transistor igniter unit/igniter coil/voltage regulator and a starter motor. kats

My 240Z is HLS30-02156 03/70, with a L24-5562. I Bought an engine from HLS39-02231 02/70, with a L24-4556. It is interesting to see the number of gap, not in sequence. Also I bought a set of metal chrome Z emblems for the pillars and a rear gate, And also a metal Datsun for the rear gate. They are all hallowed , not solid metal emblems. My 240Z missed her original emblems way before starting the restoration. Which fact may I follow? If I follow the date, I may put emblems with white Z inlet. If I follow the VIN, I may put chrome Z emblems , not solid type. What do you think of it? kats

I do not need an audio system , Z brings excitement more than stereo! You agree ,do not you? Today a bit of 240Z, recently I bought an engine from 02/70 HLS30-02231 L24-4556 in Japan. It is nice to see all the original features, E31 head and block 2400 valve cover,oil filler cap e.t.c. My 240Z's engine have same "plain flat " front cover of the head , how about yours? The seller does not know much about the early L24, he explained " seems the oil pan was fixed some time before,there is a metal panel welded on it" That was nice for me, probably some potential bidders lost their interest ! This seller is recently famous in Japan, he has been continuing selling US 240Zs with sliced / cut / broke down in pieces !! I am lucky because this car has an original engine and magnesium wheels with stamped numbers in sequence. Also original seats,dash,and original all the other interior parts. They are so hard to come by, and they are important because most of them have date stamp on their back. kats

You can see what a great number of original parts were missing when it was before . I now realized Mr.Moroe provided so many OEM new parts for this car. Almost everything exept the engine block !! kats

Hi, I have found this is my Z432 :sick: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/g2002max/29394811.html I think this car when it was in Miyagi around 2005-2006. The registration plate is confirmed , and a bonnet catch basement was bented down slightly, that was already seen in early 1970's car magazine which this car was featured for. What a ugly car it was!! kats

I think this car could be PS30-00009 used as a example for the service manual. Please see this car does not have a bracket for the battery cable ,just there is a clip you can see on the cables. This car also has unusual clamp for the brake and fuel line. We know the existing lowest chassis number for Z432 is PS30-00011 ,I am curious to see the car and want to check if the car has same unique parts like PS30-00009. kats

Hi, I changed long heater hose to cloth braided but I realized my mistake, Heater hose from manifold (intake to the heater core ) should go through under the hose to water pump (out from the heater core). Also I organized battery cable to be looked it should be. kats

Hi Kats, I spoke to my friend (original and current owner of 71 240z). He explained how the 240z waiting list went: 1. You signed up at the dealer and were added to the list. 2. As a car arrived, regardless of colour or transmission, the person at the top of the list was offered it. If that person refused, he was put at the bottom of the list. My friend was on it for nearly a year up to April 1971 but never made it to the top. When he travelled to western Canada in April 71 for work as a student, he just landed and enroute to the hotel, he saw a Datsun dealer with two red Z's. He quickly checked into the hotel then had the taxi return him to see the Datsun dealer. The dealer said the two red Z's just arrived that morning and one was sold. My friend bought the other on the spot. The date of mfgr was Jan 1971 but most of the date stamps on the parts were Nov-Dec 1970. Blue and Fred, Thank you so much,these stories are fun to read. Everytime I here the story like this,it makes me smile.I was born in June 1969, I want to know how people admired and bought and owned Z at that time. Mike, My web is now closed, but soon will be back on.Sorry. You are so lucky that those super rare emblems came into your hands.And also the story is quite interesting! In Japan,we found the "NISSAN" rectanguler emblem was used for other Nissan car, I forgot the name but they are track/van behicle.The part number might be different, but you can not tell the difference viewing from the top.There will be the difference of triming of the basement for directly mounted to the different body panel surface. And they are for sale at the old car shop in Japan. kats

Mike, Yes the bracket should be cad plated.Mines are painted black,I can see cad plated under the paint,so I can remove the paint and complete! What are you listening on the stereo? I have got a Bally White "Love theme" from ebay and it is just fantastic. I have got the rear panel from Yahoo Japan last year,I was so lucky to be able to get it. Maybe some one is helping , I am always feeling this every time I found correct parts timely, and amazingly. kats

Fred, #253 is super!! very very rare. 1969 US 240Z and Z432(1969-1973) are found 100 or more each.But I do not see 1969 S30(S) and 1969 HS30 and 1969 HLS30(other than north america) many. So keep it forever. Like Mike told us , emblems are very hard to come by,even in Japan.My friend Mr.Watanabe(his web site is http://z432.car.coocan.jp/newpage501.html) He is making some repros by his own hands, it is a good try,I will ask him if you need them. kats
