  1. Thank you Steve but I'm talking about the sound deadening pad. My 280's are perfect but this new 240's crumbled to pieces when I touched them so I ended up scraping then vacuuming the mess out. Found a complete mouse skeleton under there when I took the seats out. Turned the A/C on and half of a snakes skin came out of the vents in pieces. I bought an ecosystem that'll do a 100 MPH. Don't you love livin' in the South!
  2. I meant to say that I'm not suggesting that you change your fluids to Red Line but you'll get a lot of information from that link on what you're asking. And the pictures are nice too, kind of gets you prepared for what you're about to do. Have fun.

  4. What does everybody use to replace that horse hair looking brown stuff under the seats on 240s? Thanks for any suggestions.
  5. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/mtl/index.html I bought my Red Line from amazon.com Save this link, Tech Tips, you'll use it. Thanks again Blue!
  6. That's a great story! You are a good man. I believe in Karma and you got some coming.
  7. That's Commandment #11. :classic:
  8. I recently bought a '72 that didn't want to run. After loosening the intake valves to spec and replacing the fuel filter it fired right up.
  9. Will Igor be there?
  10. Yes, great looking family heirloom. It has flat topped carburetors from '73 like Leon says above but the ID plate on the driver's door jamb will say for sure. Unscrew the black knobs on top and make sure they have oil in there. I just bought some at Lowes, 3-in-one 20 wt. in a blue and white bottle for $2.99.
  11. 3-in-one in the blue and white bottle is what I just used, after searching the archives. The outside temperature matters, from all that I read.
  12. I thought his avatar was that guy on the Dos Equis commercials. I need to watch more TV. :stupid:
  13. We could Skype with each other or do what I'm doing, throwing rocks at all the communications towers I see, in hopes that St. Blue soon would be here.

Here's something Blue ran into with his aftermarket mirrors, not sure of the make. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/exterior/mirrors/index.html. Here's his car, http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/members/philippilgrim/index.html. Hope that helps.
  15. One duh question. On every cylinder the piston needs to be at the very top before stuffing the rope in?
  16. I'm glad to hear that it's an easy job, I'm about to try it. Hopefully I can find a spring tool to rent.
  17. Good day, I got it started and drove around the block! If I hadn't taken the seats out I'd still be driving it. Some carb gaskets were leaking, the firing order was 180 backwards and the valves were all too tight especially the intake valves. 1st I used a gas can as Jeff said then I put filters everywhere and put 5 gallons in the tank. Has a cool sound, the 2 pipes coming off the exhaust manifold go into a straight shot 2.5" exhaust. It has an "A" stamped cam that looks good, the spray bar works really good too. Oh and the York A/C works! Z karma at it's best!
  18. It gets pretty good reviews, Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: CRC 05063 Guaranteed To Pass Emissions Test Formula - 12 Fl Oz.
  19. Very nice and priced accordingly.
  20. I'd clean the AAR. Maybe get a new PCV valve? Sounds like it needs more air, maybe a varmint got in the air box?
  21. Seems to have been taken care of.
  22. It looks OK to me under there but I'll find something that's unsettling once I get it up on a lift, I'm sure.
  23. Got it home last night! Too tired to do much else but take some pictures.
  24. Ah ha ha, I just had woke up and wasn't thinking. But you're important to.
