Is someone able to look in the Humble book at the car that he redoes? When he is removing the original tan interior door panels I swear there is a shot showing these screws/washers. He also says something about it in the caption in the photo. Can someone confirm this as I dont have the Humble book with me right now. Joseph

They are "local". The have depots in the USA and gather the parts and send them to Australia to be repaired and then sent back. A few guys on this site did a group dash resto from the USA to Australia a few years back. If you go this route, please let us know how the console turns out. Joseph

Carl Sorry for the dated reply/information. I have been doing some research lately in regards to compliance plate fitment here in Australia and have come up with the following dates. Mandatory fitment registered on or after- South Australia - 1st July, 1970 New South Wales - 1st August, 1972 Victoria - Not mandatory < 1969; general use/fitment mid-1972 Tasmania - March, 1970 (date unknown) The above-mentioned dates have been supplied directly from the transport authorities in the respective states. If anyone is able to fill in the data for Qld, WA, NT it would be appreciated; no hear say info, actual info. Saying that, Im not sure exactly how closely the above-dates were followed. If you are in Australia you wont have a ZX-Turbo box unless it was imported from the USA to here as we didnt get the turbo model here on our shores. You will have a ZX box, either early ratio or late. Joseph

Got it. This scan shows a similarly marked key and indicates its use from early as October 67; way before the Z was built. Id have to say it was an "N" for Nissan based on this.

Is it a "Z" on the key? Ive always thought that it was an "N". Wasnt there a scan somewhere in another thread where the same key was used for 69 model cars other than Z's? If so, wouldnt it be an "N" for Nissan?

Interesting that it has no rear hatch window defroster/associated blanking plate in centre console insert and also rubber matting behind the seats on the floor in front of the tool boxes. I wonder is it was supplied from the factory with the rubber mat in the rear hatch area rather than the carpet. Interesting... Joseph

Hello Sacrilege to some but I now have no choice but to replace the heater hoses in my car with the later style, rubber skinned replacements as currently are available from Nissan. I want to do the whole lot for the sake of uniformity. I am having trouble finding the part number of the heater transition hose in the replacement rubber skinned type. I have seen these hoses on ebay in the past, but not recently. I have a part number of 14054-E3001 Hose - Pipe to Connector. I ordered this from Nissan here in Australia and was supplied with the early style braided type of hose. The later style, rubber skinned hoses seem to have a letter prefix to the original Nissan part number, identifying them as being remade. 14054-E3001 is still showing as the correct/valid number for this hose in the USA Nissan parts database. If anyone has purchased this heater transition hose recently and has been supplied with the later style, rubber skinned hose it would greatly be appreciated if you could please let me know the Nissan part number which it was supplied as. As far as I know these stampings have nothing to do with model/type and are to do with the casting/manufacturing process in the factory. Just work out the ratio yourself, turn the tire/wheel 10 times and have someone count the number of turns the driveshaft does. Divide and you have it. Do this a few times to compare. Also works with a tranny. Hope this helps. Joseph
