  3. Check with Mike McGinnis at Banzai, he might have one in his NOS stash that he willing to part with.
  4. My error. Your pic of the insulator/mount helped refresh me and I was able to locate a pic of my lines straddling the rod. The larger fuel supply line does run under the rod, the other three lines are above it. Sorry for the bad info.
  5. I assume you are talking about the hand brake pivot rod thru the tunnel wall into the cabin. The fuel, vapor, and hydraulic lines will mount below this rod.

  8. Lilly is the associate I have had numerous phone calls and PM's with, such a high energy and personable lady. How many folks at Nissan (or any other auto mfr.) would understand the concept of a points file???
  9. Just arrived from the folks on the Nissan Social Media team - a box of Nissan swag! Check out the new Z logo on the cap, that's a silver javelin down the diagonal.
  10. Nope. I was directing him to one of our local club members who knows these Anniversary editions extremely well and who was ready to answer any questions the OP might have.
  11. Here's a nice tire size calculator to play with: https://tiresize.com/comparison/ Plug in your OE tire specs in #1 and try out different options in #2. Speedometer error kicks in when you change the outer diameter. Aspect ratio was not in play back when our cars were new. For my 240Z the OE 175X14's were generally thought to be about 78-80. @Patcon mentions the benefit of a bigger contact patch but that also can introduce an effect called "tracking" where the tire fights the steering wheel and wants to follow road irregularities, more noticeable with these relatively light cars. I've noticed that effect with the 205's now on my car. If your current tires are rubbing you probably want to consider something a bit more narrow. Unfortunately there are limited options in the 15" range. Good luck with your selection process.

  16. The folks at Nissan sent me a bunch of pics, here are a couple of favs.
  17. The Z Proto wrapped up a three-day visit in Dallas today. I had recently posted on the Nissan USA Facebook page about our 50th anniversary and they reached out to me with an invite to see the Z Proto. What followed was an unexpected photo and interview session where they posed my car next to the new Z. The new Z is a sleek and stylish car with none of the faux vents, overwrought bulges and creases, or chrome embellishments; the interior is exceptionally comfortable and well done. The Nissan team was very welcoming and showed a genuine interest in my car. I expect to get copies of the photos taken by the pros in the coming weeks.
  18. I see that the rod coming off the bell crank is pretty well extended on its adjustment threads. This is increasing the mechanical advantage and adding to the "jerk". You can adjust that rod shorter and soften the response a bit. Softer return springs at the heat shield will also improve the problem, just not so soft that the carbs will not shut down when you lift from the accelerator pedal.
  19. That's a very nice job of straightening a rail - far better than many I've seen. Here's a pic of a similar one I restored for comparison, our OP is right on target.
  20. If it is limited to a broken mast but the lower unit is working, you can fit a replacement non-OE mast. I had that situation when I needed a working unit for bench testing a radio. I picked up a replacement mast with the correct base dia. on ebay. The mast had a nylon lead that worked perfectly with the OE drive mechanism after I transferred the ferrule to the new lead. This is the same mast I used: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement-Power-Antenna-Auto-AM-FM-Signal-Receive-Expandable-Mast-For-Cadillac/363082619349?hash=item54896919d5:g:UH8AAOSwUdZegvcH
  21. Check out the color Z they chose for the opening seconds!
  22. Gotta luv the title of this thread! 🤣
  23. If you are planning to paint inside the cabin, then removal of the items would seem to be a must.
