2007 Z National Convention (ZCON) Info
I don't want to talk about it! The world wasn't perfect for me, so I decided to give it the finger. Besides, I couldn't show up in that thing looking like that and meet yall for the first time. It's just wrong.

2007 Z National Convention (ZCON) Info
I couldn't get my car painted and ready in time for the convention. I was too ashamed to bring it in its current state, so I cancelled my reservations. My dream was to drive it on the Daytona track. What a huge letdown!

Anyone have a CAD drawing of an S30?
That won't give you any curvature though. If someone take a scale model and does a 3D scan of it, you might be able to work from there.

Frame up resto. 240 on Ebay
Where's the hood badge? What about the rusty exhaust, shot ball joint, oily engine, fake seat covers, incorrect battery cable, oil filter, wheels,? Are those Euro taillights? For a car with less than 30K, there seems to be a lot of questionable stuff. Looks like it has a dash cap. Why doesn't it have cargo strap or diamond patterned vinyl? There are lot of good things about the car though, and they are obvious as well.

Chrome plastic tail light accessories
I just had to replace the left taillight housing when the lens just fell out one day and I backed over it. I don't have to tell you what I felt like when I found out what I had just rolled over. I thought someone had laid a soda can behind my tire. Well I looked around and MSA wanted $260 for a set of lens (US or Euro), and I decided I needed to search around a bit more. A friend had a used housing that he sold me cheap and it did the trick. You know those little washers they use with the 5mm screws to secure the housing to the body? Well they're pretty minimal in covering the screw holes in the body, and if one is missing the screw head goes right through the hole securing nothing. So I went to the hardware store and found a better washer. It's a #12 washers with a rubber seal on the back. It's much wider than the stock washers and provides additional seal around the screw and against the inside of the body. You need to buy longer screws at least 5mmx.8x16mm. They work well.

General engine rebuilld questions
Have any of you rebuilt and L24 that was in generally good condition (i.e., not smoking, decent compression)? How much better did the engine run after doing any overhaul. By overhaul I mean boring the engine, new pistons, bearings, head work, etc.... Do these engines usually need some kind of balancing work and blueprinting?

MSA Twice pipes
I was reading an article on exhaust and backpressure. The bottomline was that backpressure and performance is total bologna. That is, all the talk about needing back pressure is totally wrong. Here's a link to a discussion about this. http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Miscellaneous/exhausttheory.htm

- Carbon fiber
Les Cannaday told me that there is a shortage of carbon fiber because of large government contracts. http://www.fibreglast.com/carbonfibershortage.php- stock exhaust
I believe 2-1/4" was determined to be the optimum size pipe for a 240Z. I believe it maintains good gas velocity throughout its length. You don't want to slow the exhaust down either through increased volume or loss of heat. The latter is harder to control. - Carbon fiber
