I can strip them and let them sit on a salt water soaked rag for a couple of weeks if you want..... But that will be extra
  2. Just been futzIng after work - cut 4 PVA vertical strips for the door to frame "seal". I added the soft brush style sealing used for vinyl windows (at least I think that's what it's intended for). Also leveled the tops of the doors and added PVA caps to fill the gaps in varying sizes. I'll add a brush seal to them also, to minimize the air gaps. With those I'll probably put the seal onto the PVA on the door, as it doesn't really like to stick to wood painted or not. Sticks just fine to vinyl. Have to deal with the irregular door bottoms also, now those are the main draft (visible in last pic of last post )

LOL! That one looks like the snapped off lower bolt that came off the car! So I think I already have that one!
  4. We can finally celebrate! My steering wheel shaking is gone! I re-checked every single bolt in the front suspension (for the third time), removed the steering knuckles even and tightened the bolts for the bolt joints. Removed my wheels and removed all the rust on the hubs and backside of my wheels. However I think the fix was the front bearings! Even though I followed Nissans procedure for the wheel bearings I think they might be too loose for my suspension setup with hind joints and poly bushings. I tightened the nuts for the front bearings just a little more making sure the hub can still spin nicely obviously. All this and steering is solid! Crazy to think I went though two sets of bearings following Nissans procedure only for it to be the problem haha. To everyone with modified suspension and getting wheel shake, tighten the bearings! Thank you to everyone for helping! appreciate all of your for the help!

I dug up a short one that matches the long one in number (9), hex head size, and patina. It is included in my PM response, Capt.

That lower bolt looks like something off a 1920's Ford. Too much shank too.

@Terrapin Z, I have verified the hardware size I'm looking for... M10 x 1.50 x 45mm long (measured under the head). I believe what you offered up would be perfect, even the patina! I'll send you a PM! Thanks for the help!!
  9. Here is one idea I started with tonight. Make a fitted backing plate of something my low temp alloy rod or TIG bead won’t stick to, then merrily go weld beads to build up the missing piece. Brass may not be the right material, sheel steel is likely better, but you get the idea. While doing this I dreamed up the liner with smaller seal idea above.
  10. All interesting ideas. Perhaps if I can find a slightly smaller OD seal, I can just make a thin liner pipe to go inside the current ID (50mm) that brings it down to the size of said smaller OD seal. Kind of an inside out Speedy Sleeve! The stock seal fits our 35mm driveshaft sleeve and a 50mm tail housing ID. Like a Timken 710324. So maybe a make a 48 mm ID Start with a 2” OD aluminum pipe with 1/8 wall and turn the outside to 50.05m and the inside to 48 or whatever seal I find. ? Maybe Anyone know how to search a seal catalogue by OD/ID?
  11. Max at Resurrection Classics spends a lot of time researching and finding manufacturers. I’ve been to his whse and walked me through the parts inventory and the stories along the way getting to this point.
  12. Your wheel bearngs are loose. Even though there is a somewhat complex process for setting tapered wheel bearing preload, you can get really close just by tightening them by hand. Pop that cap off and turn the nut until it's hand tight. Your aftermarket lugs are so long it wouldn't be a surprise if they were bottoming out in the nut. That rust and corrosion on the hub should not be there, where the nut is supposed to be clamping the wheel down. That's a sign that the wheel is not seating on the hub.
  13. Many thanks. It truly is. This morning I had time to get a top coat on the shelves. I mixed a slightly lighter grey - the earlier version I felt was too dark for the sides Started putting stuff on them this afternoon. I'll be rearranging crap for sometime
