  9. I've "LIKED" too many post today so I need to do it the old fashioned way. Thank you, I like what you posted except the cancer part. We can put a man on the moon but can't help people with that sickness, sad to me to know the big pharmacies don't want to cure it just treat it. Back when they cared about people they came up with cures. Smallpox, polio etc.
  10. I found reproduction ones in Japan with FRP chrome frames for $800-$1000 new with lenses and all.

It sounds like the next driving experience for your nephew is going to be road rash. Better he learns cornering now rather than when his favorite Uncle gives him a Z.
  12. Jalexquijano: Have you tried a water wetter in your cooling system to lower the temperature, and have you also burped the system to make sure there aren't any air pockets that are allowed to get super hot? Water Wetter example: https://www.redlineoil.com/Products.aspx?pcid=10

  14. Manny, you have characterized these re-created tags as "awesome" in the result. As I have just received my order of these tags for my car, I would also add that, as I am aware of the definition of the term, they appear to be a "flawless" re-creation of the original. For those interested in getting the best products for there coveted cars, this is as good as it gets. Thanks 240Ziggy. Dan
  15. Do you have more information on the engine? There are so many different varieties of Chevy 350 out there. A picture of the engine might be nice also. Brakes are for slowing mass from speed, not really much to do with the power to get to that speed. Bad brakes are just bad brakes no matter what engine.

  19. Sometimes ther is slop in the square. I've used a blade screwdriver to take up the slop. Worked great.
  20. Grande Nose is late 1971, so the 'G Nose' predates that crossmember/those mounts by quite a long way. I can state quite confidently that it's nothing specific to the ZG. The point about the horns is that these mounts simply move the horns forward of their normal positions. The horns then attach to the captive nuts in the forward end of the mounts, giving space for something quite big (like an aircon evaporator...) to mount in between them and the radiator. They are less horn mounts and more horn re-locators. Re-locating the horns is not their primary function. Oil cooler mounts is a red herring. The mount points for the (two types of) factory oil cooler are already in the (normal) body. Works rally cars never used anything like these mounts for sumpguards or spot/fog lamps. In any case, such mounts were 'free' in FIA Appendix J and didn't need to be homologated/attached to road cars to make them legal for rally use. If they are not the nascent air con evaporator mounts I am advised they are by people I trust to know, then I'll eat my hat and finish it off with my socks for dessert.
  21. I worked in construction until the bottom fell out in '07, 20 years I paid into "welfare". Then I wised up and started using my money to make money. My best move, or worst in some peoples opinion, was never getting married and not having kids that I know of. I'll die alone in a nursing home but as long as my parents don't see it I'm okay with that. Hard work is what makes the world go around and I respect everybody that works day to day, it's just not for me. I'd rather work on these Zs & be a dirty old man until I'm a dead old man.

a couple more things off my list. i bet i spent the better part of 6 hours sandblasting the grill, lots of little nooks and crannies. i believe this is the only body part on the whole car i didnt have to repair! just sandblast and paint finally got the seat foam and covers done. the foam came from msa, and the covers from interior innovations. i spent maybe 3 hours on the seats. Hardways thread here was a big help. instead of plastic, i used baby powder on the foam. the covers went on easily. i also took the seat hinges apart and powder-coated them and the screws. just waiting on carpet, wheels and door panels now
