You're never alone if you're on this forum....
  2. I like being #2 on the list
  3. Hi everyone! My name is Mark and I will be restoring my 1976 280Z coupe HLS30-271295 starting this year. I look forward to your feedback and help as I am sure most of you have a lot of experience with restoring your own cars! I am hoping you will all chip in and help me avoid some common pitfalls and mistakes along the way. I will post photos and updates as I go. For now, these are pics of the day I picked up the car in Calgary in March of last year.
  4. Nice heel into the front fender of the TVR. Looks like its too cold for those pansy-assed boys she has posing with her. I'll bet she owns the car.

Thinking of going in this direction with my paint: Lamborghini Huracan Spyder in Arancio Borealis 4-layer paint ($267,545 MSRP)
  6. Thank you Site. I would guess that Auto Zone will have reference to the length. I'll be getting them tomorrow, and Michael will put them on soon. We haven't set a date for when yet. Thanks for all the help. Jai
  7. Sorry, I am talking about after the fuel pump for the "high pressure (high dollar) hose". Coming out of the tank is 3/8". If you are going to drain the tank this is a "must read". http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuel/gastank/index.htm In this pic you can see a lot: Metal sheet that protects the gas lines from road debris Fuel hose to motor via Fram filter Disolved hose particles in Fram G3 filter 10mm or 3/8" fuel hose Fuel return line Vent Hose to carbon canister and backflow valve passenger side fuel tank strap with 14mm nut

It pulled me through working by myself. Good confidence booster to SEE what can be done.
  9. Thanks Sean, for now I like upsetting the neighbors and making the dogs bark! One day I will get one fitted and be a bit more civilized!
  10. Dave is the proud new owner of this car beautiful car.
  11. Zs are actually the worst cars, there is no need to ever buy any of them. >.>
  12. Hi Sean, I ended up ordering a jdm muffler from you! Had it put on 2 months ago and love it. I'm running a 2.5" pipe to it, no additional mufflers or resonators and it's loud as sh@#*t but amazing sounding. Most comparable to a pack of 12 grizzly bears and 13 lions sent up from the depths of hell.
  13. This 90 amp alternator is a fairly new product to us. We do have the connectors for this alternator in stock now. 15. You take better photos than I do ! I'll try and load some video clips sent in by customers....there are more on Facebook that I can't seem to pull off. video-1470596889.mp4 video-z1.mp4 video-1475260341.mp4
  16. Jai, Also consider getting a gasket for the drain plug if you drain the tank that way. I didn't replace it when I drained your tank previously because I didn't have one handy. Perhaps someone on this thread can tell you the right size for the gasket, since I can't remember for the life of me.
  17. Charlie at Zedd Findings is a stand up guy! His order of your work is a huge nod of approval!
  18. You could have pulled the spherical post out instead of cutting the washer. Put some Loctite on it when you put it back together, and it should hold. The REAL elegant solution would be to make a new stud with a larger ball on the end... That would be the most time consuming alternative! Here's a thread with some other related pics:
  19. Took me a while staring at the photos to realise what I was looking at. The ball section is the fixed anchor and the section around it with the two threaded stud holes is the mirror housing. Nice simple fix. End result looks great. How does the swivel action feel compared to original now it has the extra washer? Just wondering if the washer might cause extra movement making it harder to fix position. Chas
