  1. Once in awhile would be an improvement for me!
  2. Parts needed to finish a beautiful project! Looking for parts in good used working condition. Hope you can help! If you are parting out your 1972 and can help with the list below, it would be much appreciated! This is a labor of love, as it started as a father/daughter project that wasn't quite finished, then the car sat for several years due to poor health. Now I'm back on the case, and trying to finish on budget that is already above and beyond! So any assistance you can give is greatly appreciated! 1) 240 horn pad and/ or the spring and mechanism behind it. 2) White interior pieces ( rear area and the side antenna access area... Don't want new, too white!) 3) rear hatch louvers ( the no drill kind) 4) antenna motor-working (mast needed) whole component. i think that's it for now. If you happen to have any of those items please let me know. Have a persimmon 72 240 with white interior that's in great shape, but trying to upgrade weak areas, and keep her as original as possible. i will check off and/or update this list as parts are found. I will also add any parts that may be needed as I finish my restoration, so please check back Thanks Z friends! Appreciate any assistance! To those who have either found parts for me, or have given thoughts or direction, Thanks a big Z bunch! Kira The lil z lady Below, my z in 2005 prior to the start of restoration.
  3. It's a remanned unit, but I would hope it would've been noticed and addressed. Mistakes happen, and maybe I just have bad luck with shops, but darn if that kind of stuff doesn't seem to happen more often than I'd like. At least it's an easy fix. Bless those 1970's engine compartments that let you see all the way to the ground.
  4. Well siteunseen you will look a bit dumb once in a while when you stop a the a red light or stop letting go the gas a bit to promtly the engine will stall. but this is not a big deal. I am putting back my engine in this weekend then allignement next week And the orange Z of Magog will be back on the streets. So much work done this winter you woudnt beleive.

  7. No problem, but you know that you can link directly to the post, right? It's the little triangle symbol on the right side for post sharing. Here's what it looks like: And the link to the post itself:
  8. I would think that for all the rubber parts, new would be better than used IMO. Readily available from MSA, Arizona Z and Black Dragon to name a few. Specific Rubber Grommets can be found here http://www.240zrubberparts.com PS; We are all over budget (and some of us are dried out also).

  11. He's just as funny in real life! You have to pay close attention on here though. Sometimes I laugh at something he posted 30 minutes earlier when I'm offline already.
  12. You forgot the worst four-letter word of all around Datsuns: "RUST"
  13. When I had HLS30-00110, I went through the list of cars on Z-Home and was able to find only 5 blue/blue combos in the first 3500 vin's of current owners. Gave up after that many. The off white interior parts are only available now, not the real white of the 70-72. The SEM vinyl dye called 'Super White 15103' matches perfect to the off white available now. MSA used it on a black tail finisher I got from them to replace the old off white one I had as an original, matched perfect to the rest of the interior. Bonzi Lon
  14. As you can see from the photos, I retained the fresh air vent control. If you chose to eliminate yours, you can simply block off the opening. If you do, I would get a sheet of black plastic from a hobby store to cover and clean up the center section of the heater control panel. If I were to do this again, I would use this for a fresh air control: http://www.woodcraft.com/product/149578/dust-collection-fitting-blast-gate-abs-4-od.aspx I inverted the fan and used a spacer to locate the fan under the fresh air vent. Note, this probably voided the Vintage Air warranty.
  15. My cousin's favorite work that starts with F, and ends with UCK: firetruck.
