  1. I ordered a set of Triple Weber DCOE 40's today along with RAM air filters, I'll hopefully have them installed and set up within a couple of weeks of them arriving here 👍

We went for a small drive today through Germany, here's a picture of the 240Z and my friends Bricklin SV1
  3. Yes..I meant to include a sentence about dragging a finger nail across the line to " feel " it. I've edited the previous post accordingly. Problem is that sensitivity to feel varies between people. Some people can feel a .001" dip.. Some ( like my Ham fisted buddy ) can't feel .010". Most people can however, see the line, and if a line is visible it's the start of the wear cycle and more checking is required. The two rockers in that particular picture are quite severely worn. Picture came from a thread in which noisy rockers were the issue, and these turned out to be the culprit. Bottom line. If you can see a wear line on the Rocker... check it closer. Particularly if you're having trouble with a noisy valve train. My .02c FWIW.
  4. Great thread - it takes passion and patience to bring a car back to this level. Most of us have battled the battle at one point or another with our dedication to our cars. Keep up the great work and pics.
  5. That's life. Most people have to pay for past actions, mistakes or not. If you want to be proactive, reply to the members here who had problems and show that those errors are gone. There are at least two. And by the way, there are at least two engine build vendors that get good reviews on this forum on a fairly regular basis. So it is possible to build a good reputation. Good luck.
  6. Painted the block and buttoned her all up. I do believe she is ready to be bolted in.
  7. Yesterday went out for a bit of a cruise. Got a ticket from a Sheriff's deputy on a motorcycle with forward look radar for 13 over. He knocked it down to 5 over and 1 point. I was totally guilty. I've owned the Zed for 10 years. I have done some serious hooning about in it. I paid the $98 fine...that averages out to $9.80/ year. Cheap for all the fun I've had. Ironically the last speeding ticket I got was in 1975 in my '73 Zed for 30 over. When I think about all the times I could have been busted I just smile. Cheers, Mike
  8. Yeah, that's my life too. I spent untold hours this past off season putting in headlight relays, a starter relay, and converting over to the internally regulated alternator. My Z's headlights work, it starts when you turn the key, and the alternator charges the battery. Just like before I did all that work. But I know....
  9. That dash is an easy fix - a weekend if you can get it out in good order. Some spray foam, a few razor blades, and a can or two of truck bed liner.
