It seems to be a pretty nice car overall. Appears to have been rode hard some, but isn't that what it's all about? I agree that it will be interesting to see how it goes.

It has some odd mods. Check out the catch can plumbing. Looks like both crankcase vents run to the can. Can't tell if the system is actually open to atmosphere or plumbed to intake vacuum. Maybe there's a hose to the air filter box.

And that's a lot of rubber fuel hose running over the top of the engine. Nissan used as much metal fuel tubing as they could, rubber hose was mostly short sections joining hard line.

I watched some of the driving video and it's weird how these Youtube people become "authorities" on vehicles. Said that the Z's were considered to be poor handling, at about 8:14. Youtube is a very strange place. As is the internet in general.

Probably never as far as “stop that”. Human nature is to categorize things. While there might not be an official ‘series 1,2,3, there is a human construct that some of us here have to create a differentiation.

The manufacturer's own advice on modifying the cars for circuit use was that the crankcase vent could be blanked off and valve cover vents be plumbed to a catch can in just that way. They even sold parts in their Sports/Race Option lists to use for that purpose.

So the question I have is it not a good Idea to run lines from the crankcase and valve cover to a catch can? I’m going to run triples with no capacity to run a PCV valve.

Yes, but it's not clear what was done on this car. The lower port is not, apparently, blocked off. The big hose to the can seems to come from the lower block port. A person could argue "close enough", but, is it? The buyer can modify it, it's not a huge deal.

The short answer is no.

I believe it is 'known' to a fair few people in the S30-series Z owning community here in the UK, but I don't personally know the car, the former owner/builder, the current owner or the selling dealer.

I refer you to the answer I gave in this thread:

Nissan Sports advised that for competition use it's OK to cap the block breather tube and run the valve cover vent to a catch can.

I've done that on several of my own cars (running both vents into a catch can in one case) with no ill effects.
