Hi from Greece...

Recommended Posts

hello my friends :)

I have some progress, I told you that this is a very slow project because of lack of time and limited funds ;)

so, the frame rails, wheel well and passenger floor is fixed and I just removed the dash, mainly to clean the backspace and through the air ventilation.

I also want to fix the dash, after reading the helpful topics in this forum ;) It has a dash cap right now but I want to remove it and do the job right ;)

here are some photos of my Z ;)

I can't find any part numbers for the filters inside the heater... I can't find any photos of these anywhere... any help? I could just use universal filters...

as you can see, cleaning the back and inside of the dash is a must... I will post photos after I clean and paint everything to look like new ;)

sorry for few photos that need rotation but this was done while uploading them...In my computer these photos look ok...

Hi George looks like you have a lovely 240Z there, keep us posted with your progress, I'm almost a neighbour too in the UK and I recently imported a 72 from Spokane WA, they're great cars!

The hood release cable snapped on mine last week so I've ordered a new one from Zcardepot hopefully it will arrive this week.

George, I don't think there ever were any filters in the heater system, so I'm confused...

If you're thinking those floppy dirty pieces of foam and vinyl were filters, then you're incorrect. I think those are just for internal sealing of the duct doors and insulation, not filtering. Is that what you're talking about?

ok, I guess I am wrong... I was referring to what Captain Obvious wrote... those floppy dirty pieces of foam and vinyl... nice description Captain ;)

can we find those anywhere? do I really need those? I guess I can use a universal foam in there just for the dust...

Haha! Floppy dirty pieces of foam and vinyl!

One of the Z specific stores might sell pre-cut replacements, but I haven't looked. I think most people just use regular hardware store foam and fabricate their own.

As for if it's really necessary or not... It's nice for the doors to seal well when you have them in the desired positions., but not a deal breaker if you get a little leakage past them. If you're in that deep, I'd put something in there, but it doesn't have to be perfect?
