Did they put Zbart in the engine bay of cars? I thought Zbart was an undercoating. Also, wasn't it determined that Zbart added to the deterioration of metal. That's a very nice Z.

Vicky

Yes, they did Vicky. They applied it under the car, in the engine bay, they even drilled holes in the door jams, and other structural channels to inject the Zbart stuff into hidden areas of the chassis. the holes were then capped.

Like injecting cancer into a body that already has cancer cells present. My father-in-laws' original 72 240Z had the little Zbart sticker on the window. If memory serves me right, it was a pictire of a Knights Helmet. Seventies were a blurr :stupid:

Good memory Vicky, it was some kind of Knight thing. Black and yellow if I recall. My old 79 310 had been Ziebarted. Had little yellow plugs here and there to seal the holes where they shot the goo in. Car was maroon and the little yellow plugs stood out quite noticably.

Yep, that's what I remember on my 310. The coating seemed to work pretty good on that particular car. It lasted many a salty Nebraska winter and was no worse for wear when I sold it.

I can supply pictures of the little plugs as my car has them if someone is interested, but it is probably not that interesting.

Ben

Interesting to me Ben, shoot away. It would show what to look for. How do you think the Ziebart is doing for your car?
