Putting my "72" back together after a very long slumber and need 3 screws/bolts. 1 - Headlight bucket screw M5 x 0.8 x 15mm of thread length 2 - Arm Rest M6 x 1.0 x 20mm of thread (back of bolt head to end of thread not including locating nub at end) with lock washer 3 - Grab handle M6 x 1.0 x 15mm of thread with lock and captive washers The grab handle and arm rest bolts are philips with a hex head. Any help with these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve

I have a 2.8L that’s been converted to a mechanical fuel pump. However I popped the valve cover off today and found that no fuel pump eccentric was ever installed.[emoji849] Is the eccentric the same for 240z, 260z, 280z? If so, anyone know where I can find one? Well after spending the past month in the "Help Me!" section, my 1975 280z lives! I figured it is a good time to start a build thread in the proper section to showcase my next steps. Lets see, where do we start? The story goes that this 1975 280z was an Arizona car for the majority of its life. The owner parked it sometime around 1993 (last registered tags) due to an "ignition issue". It certainly looks the part for sitting nearly 30 years. Odometer says 80k miles, but maybe this is 180k? Guys does this even fit a 280z? how do u insert? If u insert with the beveled edge towards the door handle it does leave a bit of space from where u can see the pin. Is this the right way? Other way it just flushes with the handle and u cannot see the pin. originally I did not had these and got the handles off easily as there was more space. Just wondering if anyone used these and after that it is easy to unpin the handle again.

I have been using this gun to spray adhesive for my restoration project. https://www.yourautotrim.com/aespradspgun.html Unfortunately, it fell off my work bench the other day (it is rather top heavy and I wasn't paying enough attention). When it hit the floor the brass fitting that connects the gun to the cup broke. Searching online, I haven't been able to find anything like this fitting. I will try to determine the thread size today, but I know it is not pipe. The nut on the right threads onto the brass fitting and can travel the full distance of threads. It is a lock nut. I'm going to use this thread to document the progress on installing my Rebello 3.0 motor and other projects on my '73 240Z US model that I have owned for 40 years. Most of the suspension and engine modifications were done in the '70's by the original owner, the Thompson family in Northern California. I have been very slow to get this motor in as I have too many cars, two of which are projects and one is a finished project. Here's a dumb, improbable, not going to happen, but question never the less. What would happen if you were somehow able to put an old school engine into a modern car? Would it be able to handle the weight? Would it be running at 5k down the street to get groceries? Could it even move the car? For example, what would happen if you were somehow able to shoehorn an L-series engine into a modern car or SUV? For the purpose of wasting our time on this thread, let's say putting an L-series engine in a 370z and Pathfinder. Would it be able to move the car? Would the clutch be the weak point and slip? etc.

Well, the last restoration went so well I think it's time to do another one. I am actually restoring this '73 240Z for a gentleman up in the Bay Area. He is the original owner of the Z and a friend of the Orange Z owner whose car I recently completed. We will pretty much go through the same process and restore this one to it's original condition including the original flat tops. Actually the flat tops are one of the first things we discussed on the phone and I was thrilled that he wanted to have those put back on (I would have a hard time restoring a '73 and putting on the round tops). Hello, I am new to the forum and just joined today since I picked up my first Z car today. A little about me, I live in Pennsylvania (Lancaster) and have been working on cars since before I got my license (20 years). I've done a ton of body work and a good amount of mechanical. I don't have the patience for electrical work but I am working on it. My car was originally an auto. I’m in the process of restoring it, and I’m getting close. I put a 4 speed in it, but there is no standoff on the firewall to prevent the clutch pedal going to far. Could someone do me a big favor and measure the height of this clutch pedal stopper (including the rubber pad)?? Please measure starting from the metal firewall, not the insulation. Bought the rear hatch inner seal for my 72 from MSA. Bought it there because their description says “after years of not carrying the hatch seal, we now do because this one is good blah blah” FYI, it’s made by precision. Nothing special. And the hatch now sits like 3/4 inch proud above the body. Way too thick. And I’m having to force the hatch closed. They shouldn’t be stocking this item. Feel like I got ripped off.
