CEgg11 Posted December 18, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 18, 2014 Hi all. I have my dash out doing repairs and decided to replace the incandescent bulbs with LED. I've done the swap, but want to test that they work. Does anyone know the power lead to the bulb lights?
siteunseen Posted December 18, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 18, 2014 I don't know if this will help but when I rebuilt my combo switch the dash lights were tied into the switch. I had to look and see, it's a green wire with a white stripe. When I put 12v on the solder blob it lit up the dash.

rcb280z Posted December 19, 2014 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2014 Post a pic of the dash if you can, lit up of course. I would like to see the difference myself.
CEgg11 Posted December 19, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted December 19, 2014 I will, but I am going to be a few weeks out, still have to order gauges
rcb280z Posted December 19, 2014 Share #6 Posted December 19, 2014 Aftermarket or stock?
CEgg11 Posted December 19, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted December 19, 2014 Aftermarket I think, although I don't know how to make up for the lack of dual purpose gauges. I haven't really done any research yet.
rcb280z Posted December 19, 2014 Share #8 Posted December 19, 2014 Im thinking of going aftermarket as well but have not looked into it. If I do I want, besides the tach and speedo, a temp, oil pressure, fuel, and volt gauge. Im pretty sure speedhut makes a "combo" gauge of a couple of the ones I want like a temp/oil pressure gauge. I could care less about a clock. Not trying to keep everything bone stock on my 280. Let me know what you find if you are looking into it.
CEgg11 Posted December 20, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted December 20, 2014 I looked at Speedhut today, and they do make dual gauges, but only 4". The Z needs 2 1/8 I think.
