  1. These are just a few quotes from some of the replies to mally002's opening post. It would be kinda hard for this shop to use these "issues" as an excuse/reason for their lack of work at this point, seeing as how Randys Z hasn't moved from the spot he left it 2 weeks ago. I think he has every right to be annoyed, especially since his job wasn't supposed to be a "work-in".
  2. Found this 260Z police model on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Datsun-260Z-Bump-n-Go-Highway-Patrol-Car_W0QQitemZ280071047347QQihZ018QQcategoryZ19061QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  3. Found this Burago "280Z" metal die-cast at a yard sale a couple weeks ago for $5 bucks! It says 280Z all over the box and directions and even the decals, yet on the underside it has "240Z" molded in.
  4. Could it be due to the fact that it's a black & white photo?

You can also use a low adhesive tape, such as painters tape, on the outside surface of the hatch and this would help prevent the paint from chipping as you drill.
  6. We should also consider the fact that the back panels are more exposed to direct sunlight than the grill, which sits back under the lip of the hood.
  7. I've never seen or heard about one of these. It's supposedly a spare fuse pouch that snapped to the wiring under the dash and was only on the very early cars. Is this for real? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240Z-Spare-Fuse-Pouch-RARE-MUST-SEE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42612QQihZ008QQitemZ180075696635QQrdZ1
  8. Even though this thread is adout a year old, I thought I'd give a heads up to anyone looking for a set of R33 tail lights. I found these on Houston's Craiglist. http://houston.craigslist.org/pts/260846587.html
  9. I couldn't agree more. Here's a pic of my "leverage" compressor. It's a K-D 3087. Edit: Here's one on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KD-Tools-Valve-Spring-Compressor-KDT3087_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35625QQihZ013QQitemZ230070894882QQrdZ1
  10. Dimmer for the dash lights, should be on the underside of your dash just right or left of the steering column. (can't remember which side) Headlight dimmer is a function of your turn signal switch, which is activated by pulling the lever towards you. The pull knobs are your fresh air vents.
  11. Bid away! (not my auction BTW) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240z-260z-Taillight-Gaskets-NOS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6763QQihZ012QQitemZ220069408986QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  12. Edit: Looks like someone worked out a private deal.

  18. Hi Carl, I was just wondering if maybe you got these two part #'s accidently switched? Weren't the E4100's usually the earlier numbers?
  19. If possible, you should remove the following and have these items painted off the car: a) hood doors c) hatch d) windshield cowl panel e) gas lid door f) front valance panels g) headlight buckets I'd also gut the doors so that they can be painted both in and out thoroughly. With regards to the weatherstripping, besides being over 30 yrs. old and probably needing replacing, you'd have a much nicer paint job with them out. Plus you just might find rust hiding under them and this would allow you the opportunity to deal with it now and not later after it pops up and it ruins your new paint job!
  20. Here's one in Houston, 2+2 and low miles. (no pics) http://houston.craigslist.org/car/256048450.html
  21. gezzer & ddezso You two are just cracking me up! Camper + = Tomo
  22. Tomo...Just get something like this. http://houston.craigslist.org/car/249596430.html
  23. Since you don't have a fan shroud, you shouldn't have to remove the fan. Just loosen the idler pulley/s or mounting bolts if necessary and then each belt can be slipped over the fan. If the belt/s are still too tight after loosening the idler pulley/s, it's easy to just remove the idler pully itself by removing the center bolt. Good luck.
  24. I'd first try to get a pair of needle nose pliers on them and if that failed maybe you could try cutting a slot in the heads of the screws for a regular screwdriver to fit. On another note, I know you like the braided hoses and thought you should check this out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-240z-260z-Braided-Lower-Radiator-Hose-NOS-Rare_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34201QQhashZitem230065736759QQihZ013QQitemZ230065736759QQrdZ1
  25. As per your pm request, here is a pic of the ones I have. They're more orange than red. I'm not sure if they had red ones.
