  1. Hi Mike, so you eventually got an aftermarket one into the car? Was it the same maker? My 73's has some small pits and is not that bad but I got a quote anyway from a local installer for $110. And I think it was PPG also. Curious, Chris

The wipers havent worked verywell since i got it. Hey Bill, don't blame me. I guarantee you they worked fine the day I GAVE you the car. You have spare motors on your other Z's right? Just plug one into the brown Z's harness and see what happens. The only problem I EVER had with them was they wouldnt park themselves at the bottom sometimes. Z-ya, Chris
  6. Happy New Year to you all from me too. Please be safe and start 2005 off in a good way! You're all invited to my house for grilled salmon and cold drinks. Then some bubbly to bring in the New Year. Peace, Chris
  7. I got a rock......no wait that was Halloween......no wait that was Charlie Brown. :classic: I, like Carl, got some cash!!!!! Chris
  8. Yep, my Xterra was built in the states. And I agree with you about the 400R. Wicked!! My father-in law (retired railroader) used to be really into the "Buy American" thing till I asked him where his TV, VCR, DVD player and computer were made. He doesnt smart off to me to much any more about all my Datsun/Nissans. It's even more ironic now that he has a Toyota pickup. Oh well, Chris
  9. Exactly!! Mr. Ghosn is also to become the CEO of Renault soon so I'm guessing he'll put a Volvo next to the Porsche!! :stupid: We have a Goodyear Belt and Hose plant here and you'd be hard pressed to find an employee's car that DOESNT have Goodyear tires on it. The "Buy American" thing isnt as prevalent with their choice of car of truck I've noticed lately. FWIW, Chris
  10. Ditto! Original pistons have no marks on top. Chris
  11. Tomo, Ford was on the list as was Bob Lutz from GM. There were selected people from almost every make. The ones I listed were the ones that I thought were interesting and the numbers assigned were as listed in the article. Others may make their own conclusions about the "rankings". Alfa, I believe the list was compiled by the staff at Motor Trend based on their opinion of who most affected the auto industry. With Carlos being #1, I have to agree with their assessment of Mr. Ghosn. An interesting bit of side info, they asked him "what was in his garage", he replies "Porsche 911". If I were the CEO of Nissan, I'd have a bad arse Skyline GTR waiting in my garage. FWIW, Chris
  12. Hi all, Motor Trend magazine's February 2005 issue has an article about the "50 people who decide what you drive and when you'll be driving it". There are some very notable people in the list. Here are some that jumped out at me right away. #1 Carlos Ghosn Nissan CEO #12 Michael Schumacher F1 World Champion #17 Kazunori Yamauchi Gran Turismo Creator #30 Shiro Nakamura Nissan Senior VP and Design Director #50 Dale Earnhardt Jr. The Intimidator's Son The list is a who's who in the automotive world. Most I agree with, some I don't. Its a good read none the less if you get your hands on a copy. William Clay Ford Jr. is quoted as saying "America has fallen out of love with the car", I thought that was hilarious. Chris
  13. Hi Ray, I'm not sure on an L28 but on an L24 the top ring gap in my FSM is 0.23 to 0.38. So its possible that your L28 is fine at the measurement your getting. Can someone with an L28 FSM give us the ring gap specs? Thanks, Chris
  14. Hey Victor, what kind of tequila are we going to have for the holidays??? I'm thinking either some Chinaco or some El Tesoro!!! Might have to break out the Herradura Seleccion Suprema and have a tiny nip!! Chris

Leon, if you have a Fram distributor in your area, you could get a HPK5 Filter adapter and a HPK2 remote filter head. This will let you plumb in a cooler. The HPK5 goes onto the motor at the filter location and has 2 ports that are half inch pipe thread. Much luck, Chris
  16. I feel for all of you getting snow. None here yet. Its 2 degrees this morning and the wind chill is minus 11. Yippee!! My 240SX has a good heater (thank god). You all becareful traveling! Chris

  19. Hey Mat, when you make a post to a thread at the bottom there is a "manage attachments" button. When you click on that you can upload the pics to the post. If you have the pics on your computer or camera its easy. Your rockers look pretty rusty, you could replace them as a complete panel, or if you're good with patching the holes you could go that route. I'm afraid there is more rust inside the rockers that you cant see yet. I'd replace them as a whole. Much luck, Chris
  20. I used some liquid Tide and a scrub brush on mine. I have a set of straps that are kind of faded, could you use some black Rit dye and re-color them? Chris

No its a Fairlady Z. Has been since the first Z. Right hand drive, different options available also. Alan (HS30-H) could explain it better than I. Chris
  23. Hi everyone! Just wanted to say thanks and Happy Holidays to you all. I have really enjoyed being a part of the group this year. I wish I had joined sooner! You are correct Ed. With the correct thrustwashers and tolerances it would work. Do you have a good gear guy? Or would you attempt it yourself? Chris
