  1. Mate, we've had them down here for over 5 years now, so as you can imagine everyone's pretty darn happy to finally get rid of them... you can pass them on to some other country in 5 years when your time is up. Until then, SUFFER LIKE WE ALL DID!
  2. To me, that looks too dark... :-/
  3. that guy just had no idea hey...
  4. Stryder, it's great to see that some Americans know about Australia's contribution. You might be surprised of hte ignorance of some Americans.... (this is based on my own experience meeting Americans who did not know exactly where inthe world Australia was and I do not mean to stereotype all Americans as ignorant fools - just some :tapemouth ) Rick, as a young Australian I REALLY feel for you blokes did back then, and in all of the wars where in some cases you were sent in as pawns. Your message brought tears to my eyes.. sometimes I get overemotional about the enormous sacrifices you did. Thankyou Rick.
  5. Eric, You probably already know but I LOVE your car. One of my favourites on the site (can't leave out Alan's ZG can we!) One question - do you have a large version of the " http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3011&papass=&sort=1&thecat=500 " picture? I'd love it as a background image if you had a really big one... As for watanabes... I saw a set of black 16's go for $550 - AUSTRALIAN. That's about $300 American dollars... I would have grabbed them up but I was late by 2 months.
  6. There were some images showing what some guy had drawn of what he thought it should have looked like - extremely simialr to a 240Z however very modern at teh same time... you know, that whole retro thing. It was brilliant :classic: ....... btw I like this kit for the 350Z the best out of all those ones at the car show  http://zdriver.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album48&id=ahd
  7. I think Alan's just getting old and trying to start arguments! Either that or he is subtley spreading the word that the Z was definitely not "An American car, built in Japan" - something that needs to be spread so that those darn yanks don't one day remember the Z as a "muscle car"... no offence to the Americans here certainly. Alan, about the Japanese short people driving Z's ... you have an answer for everything!!! Let me think of another... ok was there any real reason why they changed slightly the design from the "series 1" to "series 2" cars? (you know, the hatch vents, steering wheel holes, etc.) or was it just changed because it could be? Oh and one story I find hard to believe (can't remember where I heard it .. might have been you!) was that Mr. K actually got people to debadge all of the American export Z's in the beginning, and rebadge them all to be 240Zs... is this true at all? I'm going off topic aren't I...
  8. It's just a pity they made it seem like a POS..
  9. hehe yep I too have the seat all the way to the front, but I wasn't brave enough to say it
  10. I think the handbrake is fine, but then I'm a RHDer too What I don't understand about the ergonomics is how the seat doesn't really come forward as much as I would expect (it was a Japanese car after all!!) and how you can't cruise around with your elbow out the window ! Pedals, dials and eveyrthing else seem to be positioned brilliantly!
  11. Very nice! Gives me some ideas about my uncontructed Tamiya 350Z model............ :classic:
  12. Oh yes, the one on Pizza is quite a beast. I think it's an RB20DET? The guy who installed my sound system also did that Z. It has some awfully big speakers in that thing... It's funny, the Z on that show is immaculate and one of the best Z's around whereas the yellow Valiant is really a POS.
  13. A 260Z 2+2 stars as the main character's car in teh movie "Crackerjack" - a recent Australian film...
  14. Ad in Ozdat: 4 16x8 black Watanabes from a Silvia. $550. Already sold... by the way, I'm no wheel expert so what kind of information do I need before I go and find a wheel? I've found the following details for my K: 28 positive offset 4 / 114 stud pattern. Is this the same as the 240Z ? Do I need anymore info?
  15. Alfadog replied to Z Kid's topic in Help Me !!
Let's just hope he isn't watching this board!! ROFL
  16. eeeep they're not too cheap either The biggest wheels, in black, with shipping adds up to be about AUD$3500... I guess I'm going to just have to find some 2nd hand ones
  17. Marc I was about to post a topic on the very same lines as this - I am after some good Watanabe wheels also - obviously 2nd hand would probably be cheaper but $200 per wheel sounds good to me! If you can forward the info to me also that'd be great !
  18. Likewise. Those wheels were very popular for the Z from what I've gathered...
  19. Wow!!! From Japan I guess? If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay? (I dream of one day importing one of those...) How much is importing an old car like that these days? Is it a GTR? Did the coupe's come in anything else? I'd LOVE to see some pics if you have any - alfadog@bigpond.net.au is my email... As for being similar to the 240Z, I'd imagine they share a few parts, but I don't think many members here would know - most of us probably haven't ever seen one of those! By the way, do you know of any older Skyline appreciation clubs or anything in Aus? lachlan
  20. I took it back and after they took it apart and said "cor blimey" they replaced it. So far (around 2 weeks) this new one hasn't faulted. Going for a new record!!! THey're a bit loud though aren't they...
  21. There's so much stuff there it looks like a different language!
  22. how much do you want to spend? -> email me
  23. The following are optical illusions: -Bullbar -Sunroof -Dings in the door and rear quarter panel Stupid trickster camera... For the moment she's Mary (a la Ken & Mary, except the Z is called Zen so it's Zen & Mary) but as soon as I find out the P.O.'s first name, I'm going to call her that.
  24. Finally, a picture! (Bigger one available soon in hte gallery)
