  1. If the car is badged 'Skyline' then it will have 'S' logos on the wheels and steering wheel, etc. If it's badged 'Datsun 240K' then it will have the 'D' emblems. I don't know what Datsun/Nissan's reasoning was but it depended upon which market the cars were going to as to what badging it would have.
  2. 'Oz' means Australia. The 'D' cap costs less because it's not as rare as the 'S' cap. The 'S' cap was only used on Skyline baged cars and the 'D' cap was used on basically everthing else that had the 40300-R4671 wheel.
  3. Dude, are you just trying to pump up your post count? Waking up these old threads just clutters the front page. I understand that you're fairly new here but most of this stuff has already been answered or forgotten about.
  4. I know that means 'hello' in Tagalog. I worked for years with someone from the Philippnes but I didn't learn much of the language from him. The only phrase I can recall that may fit here is magandang gabi, which means 'good evening' if I spelled it right. Anyway Peter, welcome to the club.
  5. The one I mentioned would be 49.5 x 17.5 in. if printed out but it's for a 77 also. I would like to find one for a 78.
  6. It's not rare as I said in the other thread where you originally posed the question. http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/index.html
  7. Production numbers for particular colors wern't kept by Nissan. If you are talking about 920 Gold, which the only 240Z gold I've ever known, it's not rare as many members here have cars that color and I've seen many others at the shows, on the road, etc. Take a look at this color chart. http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/index.html
  8. It's been done. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14899
  9. That's probably the same one I linked to earlier in this thread that was submitted by wal280Z. Your link doesn't work.
  10. Don't know what it means, really. I just checked the best and worst 50 reputations. You can be 'off the scale' or 'on a distinguished road' and be on either list. What I don't get is how the same person can be the sixth best and the eighth worst because that's what I saw comparing both lists. I don't show up on either list. Not sure if that's good or bad or if I even care.
  11. I purchased mine 7/28/97. It ran but I got it running properly on 8/22/97 and it's been running ever since. Next year will be our tenth anniversary. Both my marriage (7/14) and the purchase of the Z (7/28).
  12. That's the one I linked earlier but a 78 has a different diagram/schematic.
  13. Is it something like this one? Did he have anything for a 78? http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12083&d=1146106549
  14. And how can they be 71-78? Didn't seats change through the years? Are these just covers that slip over the existing upolstery or are they seat upolstery kits?
  15. It's back! I think it's the same car. The links in this old thread aren't valid on eBay anymore but from what I recall, it's the same one. http://www.king5.com/perl/common/video/wmPlayer.pl?title=www.nwcn.com/nw_020106WAzhawks.wmv
  16. I've seen this guys auctions before. According to him virtually everthing he sells is 'rare'.
  17. If that's the 4 wire prong relay (red/blu, wht/blu, blu/red, black), I've got three of them. We discussed them in another thread and I guess there are three wire and four wire accessory relays for the 240Z. At any rate, they're not for any of my cars and if anyone needs them, you can have them for postage.
  18. I got mine today. Thanks, Lachlan. It plays fine on all but two of our component DVD players. (We have 6!) I'm going to try to copy it to DVD and see if that makes it compatible on the other two. Thanks, again.
  19. I don't know if you attend the So Cal Datsun gatherings, but if so, look me up and I'll take a look at your 73 a/c. I'm generally the only guy you'll see in an 810 Coupe (Brown) or a 64 L320 (Bright red). I only occaisionally bring the Z.
  20. Today's weather for San Bernardino, Ca. Sunny-88 degrees. Nothing lower than 77 degrees over the next 10 days. No further comment.:classic:
  21. My ramps have rubber pads on each corner which prevent them from sliding. Had them for years. Bought them at some cheap tool store when I was living in West Covina. But I rarely use them, I just put it on jack stands.
  22. Doesn't matter as long as you mount them and route your lines/hoses properly. I've experimented with both the Nissan (Hitachi MJ167) and the Sanden SD508 in my Z. I've also used the factory receiver/drier and an aftermarket one. Both work about the same but the Sanden is easier to work on, find parts for and costs less.
  23. It looks like the car wasn't really at the location shown in some of the photos. Kind of like it was superimposed over the scene. Will, when I said JDM replica, I should have put it in parenthesis because I was being facetious.
  24. I have to agree w/Jon. Keep the engine clean, do oil changes at the proper intervals, use a quality oil. Those things will offset any benefit of using syntetic oil. I use 10W30 with half a quart of Lucas oil treatment and have seen no evidence of sludge. I have used a product called Whink rust remover for cooling system flushes every couple of years or so. Followed by plain water then the 50/50 antifreeze mix. No problems there either.
  25. My a/c is staying too! I guess the K & N filter, air dam and rear spoiler are supposed to help with fuel economy. My car does okay for what it is. The highest I have ever achieved is 27.49 mpg. It seems to stay in the 23.5-25.5 range which is actually a little better than my daily driver 810 (21-23 with a high of 25.33). I have an 83 ZX five speed in my Z which would top your automatic's readings mpg-wise, but I don't really look upon these vehicles as economy cars. My wife's HHR averages 27-30.
