  1. Mine was given to me by a friend that welded it up. I would make it adjustable for centre of balance... mine was unwieldy at times when rotating and I had to watch out for fingers etc! The dual engine stand method works too, but I would try and build something that allowed for some vertical offset positioning. or a retail version that can be resold for minimal loss later or re-used on the next project!
  2. I was going to respond with that very theory last night, but alas was too lazy to post... I had the same thing happen to me once before while welding up some steel pieces that were being positioned with a large magnet. The weld just popped right off!

  12. So the nearly 12” of snow today has cancelled my plans to strip the doors outside. i decided to rebuild my sand blasting cabinet instead! Bought new plexiglas and glass to replace the etched old stuff. Cut out a hole to place the led light in a better spot for more even illumination. Turned out pretty good! First I pulled out the old glass and plexi then I marked a hole for the light I then screwed the plexi down along with some sealant to seal it. and then replaced the glass and plexi lid. So much brighter!

  14. That's just it. As good as the OP's at least and reasonable price, otherwise I will go and have custom door cards made and rebuild the backings where the speakers had been cut in.
  15. Haven’t looked at the cam yet, but Jim said it was good. I will check when I assemble of course. Here’s a couple intake shots.
  16. For those of you following the stroker rocker issue, the Delta regrinds arrived with Jim as well. Comparison shots below.
  17. The reason for the repairs is that I have the Skillard stainless door sills with Datsun cutout. I will have these overlaying the painted sill so the green comes thru! Example below. On a patch of painted shell for example
  18. Repairing the holes left in the door frames by the PO rust proofing. A finish coat of fine strand fibreglass filler will seal these up nice.

  21. So Jim arrived with goodies in hand yesterday. The shiniest part is the throttle cable wall adapter and throttle pedal ball connector. Custom made by the legend himself. Install was straight forward. It starts with a stepped piece that is threaded that aligns in the firewall for the throttle linkage. After that, the throttle cable is threaded thru and the custom end with the soldered capture ball for the throttle pedal is locked into place in the pedal ball. A few test fits and trims to make sure the pedal stops on the pedal rest and not on the cable end. Alignment was perfect with stock pedal! And a couple shots of the engine bay side. Thanks Jim!
  22. His original pics did not show the detail of the door lock position. I supplied pics of a tape measure with the correct position. He measured his car (correct original cards) and then the spare cards (77’s) and they were not the same. Once again, the elusive unicorn door cards elude me.
