Yes, I saw this car this morning and just What a load of crap this guy is shovelin' mperdue, I had the same A/C problem in a Galant in the early '90s (ok, not my car but a girlfriend's car).

I have the rear portion of the harness for sale, from the fuse box back to the taillights including the dome light. Please PM me if this is what you need.

I am on-line from both work and home...at work it's part of my job as I work for a large computer company and constantly have to search for information and communicate with customers. However, this forum, eBay, and other Z sites do not fit into my job I still visit them during the day as time permits. Sorry I didn't vote Bill but there was no option for home & work.

There was a thread on this earlier this year I believe it was. Try searching the Engine forum, that may have been where this was discussed...the cut off of an electric fuel pump that is. Yes but you know how when you go to the parts counter they want to know the make, model, year, etc of the car you need the part for...this is why I need to know this information so that they pull the right part from their shelf. I will of course check it for the proper casting code but have to get them to pull the part first.

I searched but couldn't find this info in our forums. I'm interested in the Y70 Maxima flywheel swap into my Z and wanted to know what year(s) Maxima I should get this flowheel from? I know that this is also in the 810 so what years did this car have the Y70 flywheel?

I have a question about which year 4Runner caliper can be used with the stock rotor. I know that it's the S12 or S12-8 (I have heard both and do not have one in hand to confirm which one it really is but it's NOT the S12W) but on one website it says '79-'83 yet someone on this board told me they used them from an '84. Is the website I have read incorrect or is this person simply mistaken on the year caliper he has?

She was just early and therefore small and a bit underdeveloped but that's all changing now as she grows. The day started out with a nice 2 hour drive in my Z (alone) through the Texas hill country...nice hilly windy roads...great for the Z! It just reminded me why I love these cars. Then I washed off the exhaust smell and my wife and I went to the hospital to see our daughter (she was born 7 weeks early which was 4 weeks ago today and is in the NICU). Then we went to my parents house for dinner (and to wish my old man a happy father's day also) and I opened my present that my daughter got me (must have bought it on-line from the NICU) and it was a very nice Seiko dive watch, I'm also SCUBA certified. Now the reality of this is that I bought the watch 2 weeks ago and gave it to my wife to wrap because she wanted to get it for me for father's day but she was on bed rest and could not go anywhere.

Damn, damn, double damn. I wish I had seen this thread sooner, I just picked this one up on eBay. I'm having it shipped to a friend who works for Boeing on contract to NASA to have him reverse engineer it (fancy words for measure it, put it into a CAD program and print out a full-sized template) for me and I was going to start making them also, but I was thinking of something made of metal or resin so it would last longer.

You signed your post as TX. I'm guessing that you may live in Texas. If you let us know where you are (and the car) you may get lucky enough to have someone take a look at it with you to help you determine what's good, bad, and ugly about this car you are interested in.

Where'd you get the metal repair tape? I'm interested in this fix and it doesn't sound all that bad or expensive to do.

Clarification... the 2.8 was in both the 280Z and the 280ZX. The ZX was introduced in 1980 as I recall, which was also the Z car's 10th anniversary and the 280ZX was only made through '83 then in '84 the 300ZX came out which had the 3.0 in it.

Many emails have been exchanged and the guy is just blind, I sent a pic of the item he sold me and what I was expecting and still couldn't see the difference (a chimp could tell!). The item I was expecting I even sent a pic of it to him before I bid and he confirmed that it was what he had (the pic in his auction sucked and he would not provide another one). I only placed his other info on here to help people be aware of who he is incase he tries selling outside of eBay they would know it's the same guy. If here were to post here nobody would know it unless he joins this forum (or any other one for that matter) as reddat. Really just trying to help keep others from having problems with him. Sorry if you felt the info was inappropriate; it's just hard to avoid someone if you do not know who he is that's all. Neg feedback will be left for him! He has several negatives and neutrals for shipping cost, bad items, and poor communication but his over all rating is good which is why I bought from him. Should have trusted my gut and passed. At least we are only talking about a total loss of $25 and not more.

Just a warning to all who buy Z parts online, there's a guy on eBay that is located in Houston, Tx. that sells Z parts on eBay under the name reddat who's real name is XXXXXXX and contact info is (this is ONLY so you know who he is if you come across him and want to avoid doing business with him): XXXXXXXXX This guy really gives the Z crowd a bad name by selling falsely advertised items. When asked for a better description and provided a picture he assurred me that what I provided a picture of is what he was selling but when it arrived it was something completely different. I then send a picture of his item and what he said it was side by side and he still could not see the obvious differences! Refused to take the item back then told me to "get a life". This guy is a worldclass jerk! Please be careful if you choose to do business with him...he'll also screw you on shipping (charged me $10 on something he only paid $3.53 to send in a reused box). Lesson learned. If the guy can't figure out how to take good pix or even view a pic sent to him he's probably not capable of accurately describing what he's selling either.

Not completely true, if it were to be damaged I wouldn't sell it I'd end up trashing it that is unless it was repairable but the buyer would know it's condition up front. It sucks when you get screwed by a seller who does not tell you these kinds of things (first hand experience talking here). Well that does sound like WAY more work than I was hoping for, maybe I'll pass on doing this.

On my parts car I'd like to remove the oil pan, crank, pistons, rods, etc without removing the block from the car. How is this done and is it worth the effort (I'm just selling the parts to fund my project)...time vs. money for the parts I sell? I already have the head off, removing the water pump and front cover should not be a problem. Oh and the radiator is out also so this will not be in my way either, nor will the A/C compressor or alternator as those have also been removed. Any help would be great!!
