interior color change using SEM color coat system
Thanks, pay close attention to their directions, when they say apply a 2nd or 3rd coat within 5-10 min of the last coat they mean it, otherwise you need to wait 7 days for it to fully cure before you can reapply. The clear they want you to apply within a couple of min. of the last coat so the two coats merge. The steel upper dash finisher, it looks like a Klingon Batliff to me so that's what I call it.

280zx has been sitting in neighbor's yard for years, should I try to buy it?
Exactly, you're in HS, he'll know that, you live a couple of doors down, you don't have a ton of money to throw around but you are willing to offer to help him with jobs he may have around his property, it shows that your eagar, and honest. You would be surprised how far that goes to convincing someone to let go of a car that he is probably never going to get around to. It's worth a try.

interior color change using SEM color coat system
@qz16, I have gone through a dozen odd cans of SEM of Landau Blk and Super white, landau is the closest black you'll find to the dash and console. I have used it on plastic as well as vinyl with excellent results, be sure to use their Plastic adhesion promoter on the hard plastics. A light coat of their semi gloss clear on the vinyl gives it just a bit of shine, too much and it looks like it has been painted. All of these pics are freshly painted but dried, and it has held up well over the years.

510 vendor
As much as I would like to be a 510 guy I just can't afford to, so I don't know too much about them but a buddy of mine @Careless sent me a link to these guys, http://www.jbcoachwerks.com/ I thought I would post it here just in case some of you hadn't heard of them, nice looking products.

valve adjustment with "racing" cam
That's pretty consistent so that is good, the numbers themelves are a bit low but that maybe because the engine cooled off or probably the engine just needs a good run at highway speeds to loosen everything up. The rings may be gummed up from sitting so long.

SS Bumpers from Vietnam
Just out of curiosity, what did you find when you used steel wool on your bumpers, scratching?

Haaa!!!
Are you going to let the rest of us in on this joke? I need to go to the next ZCON so I don't have to read between the lines.

I have the feeling that in the next ten years or so that wrap is going to take over, maybe even for new cars as well once the limited colours problem has been solved. Look at how powder coating has taken over in the industrial paint applications, just a chemistry problem that needs solving. Now I'm not saying that is a good thing, I love a perfect paint job but it is on the verge of becoming old tech I think.

Series: Building a BMW V10-powered S30
That group of guys are talented fabricators, I hate that they cut up two restorable Z's just to make one custom car but money doesn't seem to be a problem for them. I think a better choice would have been to make all that power, electronics and the rest of it work with the original interior, the one they installed is pretty cheesy. And put a hood on that thing.

engine/trans help
Any method of removing the flywheel bolts that uses the starter ring teeth comes with the risk of possibly breaking those teeth. This method was posted by one of the members here years ago, I can't get access to the back of the L28 at the moment but I think you'll get the idea. Our cars come with many pieces that will do the job well, even a scrap of metal with 2 holes drilled in it will work, You don't have to tighten the bolts hard and it best to use a spare bolt for the engine block hole just in case it bends a bit. Better a 25 cent bolt that a flywheel ring gear.

First car I ever owned, tough as nails, easy to work on and boy did they ever like to rust.

SS Bumpers from Vietnam
I've been using 0000 steel wool on chrome, SS and glass for decades and have had no problems at all, it removes virtually everything that is on the surface, then a quick hand buff with a clean cloth and chrome polish and it is gleaming. Just make sure you have 4 zero's on the package.

"It's an investment honey, safer for my eyes" I get a lot of mileage out of that one. I have the older version of the Lincoln 2450 with adjustment for sensitivity, delay and a dimmer dial, I find it's a great helmet. Very light and the viewing window is plenty big enough.

Legitimacy of AFR gauges
The engineers included a built in audible warning signal that you are in 3rd when you should be in 5th, it sounds like a high pitched turbine combined with breaking metal, very distinctive sound.
