  1. If you have a project that requires a few days of uninterrupted time (no one will get near you) print this out or PM me your number and I'll send it via text message. When you're finished get a negative test result and resume the hustle and bustle we all live with. You're welcome!
  2. Here's one for sale on Marketplace. Guy says he never used it, it was too small. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1304245386718361/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks
  3. The Nissan seal is in here, next day thing from your local dealer. And I took the old o-ring to to Lowes and found a new one.
  4. I've always used that clamp as a "clip on to the hood spring holder".
  5. That's an awesome Fairlady, way better than what we've seen over here. I too thank you @kats for the photos and am really glad to hear from you. We've all missed you!
  6. I bought a new alternator and didn't have it checked before installing. Found out after many problems it was back charging and popping my fuses. Went back to Advance and it tested bad. Got another one and tested it before leaving the store. All good since then.
  7. "3. Slave cylinder: If it leaks replace it. If you buy a new one, strip it apart and clean it before installing it. The new units often have metal shavings left over from manufacture and that can destroy the new seals."
  8. Oh boy! That's just like the first one I ever drove, wheels and all.
  9. They were $1,000 beaters in the late '80s up until 2010 when everybody got all nostalgic about stuff. Damn internet! Ruined cute local girls now Zs.
  10. You're right Zed Head, it does look like foil and my comments on the radiator were knee jerk reaction after seeing them. The radiator doesn't mix with the motor oil. Sorry I wonder if the front crank gear could cause those brass looking slivers?
  11. I used 1/4" drive sockets with the smallest open-end wrench I had to turn them. Took the seat out and laid some foam and a pillow over the door sill. I still ended up sore as ever for a few days. Pain meds helped me through it but your a pilot so no, no for you. Are you replacing the valve and hoses or the whole thing? Your pictures shows a leaky valve for sure. @jfa.series1 was a big help with all his photos. Good luck!
  12. Could be rotting radiator or some type radiator repair flakes. I'd flush all the coolant out from the block up and through the radiator. Then change oil and filter with cheap Walmart oil and see what comes out after a little driving. Looks like a rotten radiator to me.
  13. Alabama has one game a year to win and that's against Auburn. Saban has a had a good run but I'm affraid he's grown tired and extremely wealthy. Time to enjoy his successes.
  14. I'm self quarrentining until my test results come back for the newest Omicron. Haven't been feeling very well and don't want to infect anyone so I sit here at home with my dog and my beer, laptop and nothing more but time. That's why I'm a little chatty today. Thanks for giving me something to do! Hopefully I can help somehow?
  15. Since your curiousity is up and running as it should be, you should find out what is going on with the PCV pipe coming out of the block. It's plugged at the balance tube so it should be plugged there too for now. I would reconnect it to it's original configuration if I were you. Maybe these pictures will help. Your current PCV valve is plugged... This shows where it should go to the block... This hose should go to your air cleaner housing to complete the circuit of Positive Crankcase Ventalation. Simply just to return any unused air to the carbs to be burned instead of released to the atmosphere. Pollution stuff.
  16. Uh oh. I thought it was part of the a/c, sorry.
  17. It's a fast idle servo for the air conditioner and the hose connects to a part you don't have. I removed mine when I took off the A/C
  18. I may be the occasional helpful card catalog but the brainiacs are the authors of the books. I just ride their coattails.
  19. A trick I do is hold the shoes together whith the springs then put them in the cylyder's slot and push them on. Hold them in place until you get the heads on the pins if that makes sense. Good luck.
  20. Late to answer with my shade tree figurin out but I used a shop vac on one hose in the core and my finger stuck in the other. It held vacuum so I knew it was good. Bought a new valve and replaced all the hoses now all is well. "I do run my heat from time to time just for a piece of mind." Dang da lank lank dang dang...I'm a grinnin.
  21. Go to bat.com and find an original '73. Tons of pictures on there.
