how to tell interior light is on with dead battery
Be sure and get one like 7tooZ has. I messed up and got a frosted looking one at a local parts chain store, it sucks too just to lazy to change it out plus I'm scared I'll break the light fixture.

Fuel problems? Spark?
Did you plug the one under the throttle body that comes off the EGR or BPT, I can't remember which but it's the one circled in yellow in this photo. Here's a good picture of the connections on a "77. Thanks to @240260280 His write up, http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/electricalconnections/index.html

Head gasket engine block surface prep
Looks good to me. If you can run a putty knife over the surface without it getting hung up it's clean just discolored.

Rear suspension arms bushings
I wish I'd used rubber instead of the polyurethane in hindsight but the Energy Suspension kit was complete and readily available plus much cheaper. The poly is okay just to harsh for me. I've learned a lot since I started reading/researching instead of asking what whomever happens to be replying to my post recommends. Even better...

Will he need the shorter valve seals with that cam Steve? Sounds like you've done your research! I like it. Can't wait to read your progress.

Tire size fail
I have 205/60/15s on my 240 and riding next to a friend talking to each other on the phone, my speedo was very close to his at 70mph. Maybe 1 or 2 mphs either way. Less than 5 for sure. They are Hankooks from discounttiredirect.com, $65 each. I really like them.

p89 head
I don't think I've ever heard of a P89 cylinder head, most likely a P79 if it came of a ZX. In my experiences call the oldest machine shop around and ask them if they'll work on an "L series Nissan straight six". If they've been in business for many years they most likely forgotten more than we know about those heads. I'd guess between '75 and '84 plus the years until they crap out, maybe 1994, they've worked on hundreds if not more. I had to research to re-familiarize my machine shop guy as to what I needed done. They were before computers and such so the more info you can supply the more likely they'll accept your head. Call around...you'll find someone that is interested in doing the work. You might even find a cylinder head shop that would take it? Good luck!

Hardway's Red Rocket 1972 240z Build Thread
Naw, I had some shrink wrap and just wrapped the whole L 2.4 carbs and all when I got it on the engine stand. No particular reason, I had some shrink wrap and didn't want anything getting in my carbs mostly. I do some goofy stuff!

What are you doing to get ready for ZCON 2018??
- 1977 speaker size for B pillar
I bought some cheapo Pyles from Walmart for behind the headrest. They work pretty good as a midrange speaker, two way only I think. Need more bass and treble to be "perfect". $20 some odd dollars, can't remember if they were 5" or what but they had them on their shelf.- Stalling issue(under throttle)
There's tons of video on youtube.com on these carbs. You might even find the "Just SUs"?- Head gasket
Me too on the head gasket dry, but I did dab some RTV ultra black on top of the side seals and around the front cover. Read a lot of guys spraying the manifold though.- Turquoise paint code?
Pontiac Blue from Duplicolor on an L20. From a couple of old post on here, neither are mine. I also painted a 74 ½ Air Cleaner using DE 1610 Pontiac Blue (I used either a white or gray primer first) also used the same color for the vapor canister clamp. (picture posted)- rear bumper spacing
You are correct Sir! They came from futofab.com via Vietnam.- Wiper puzzlement
So true! Thanks for the giggles today.- tail light issue
Seems like the US cars were all red, Europe and others required amber. If I remember right. I bought mine from futofab.com and love 'em.- rear bumper spacing
Thank you Mr Arnett! I can run a dollar bill all the way down the center piece. When we get some cooler weather I may pull it off and add some thin SS washers to get the 1/8" gap you have. Cliff- rear bumper spacing
My rear bumper is extremely close to the body. I've read someone say "business card gap" before. Is that true or original spacing? Not a huge deal but I recently read on the "Vietnamese SS bumper" thread where they needed extra washers on the mounting brackets. Curious to know what the proper gap should be below the tag on a '72 240. Thanks for any comments, help with this. Cliff- Stalling issue(under throttle)
On your power pull, charge the battery then unhook the alternator and see what you have the next morning. - 1977 speaker size for B pillar
