How to tell which head I have?
Pretty sure the year went forward in September so your build date would be a 1970. I have a 9/76 that's a 1977 280Z.

Trying to get my 1973 Fairlady (RHD) back on the road
Welcome to the forum. Nice looking project you have. I found a thread I remember reading not too long ago that may be of interest to you. You could send him a private message maybe for more information? I'll tag him here and maybe he'll reply. @scotta

How to tell which head I have?
The good thing about different heads is there's no serial number that makes them specific to your car. The block does but not the head, as far as I know. If I'm wrong we'll know in just a few minutes.

saturday night music thread
Saw Animal House in 1978, watched it so many times since then but just found this out last night watching a behind the scenes of the filming of Animal House. Robert Cray was the bassists for Otis Day and the Nights at the Dexter Lake Club. He was a local where they filmed. In the late 1970s he lived in Eugene, Oregon, where he formed the Robert Cray Band and collaborated with Curtis Salgado in the Cray-Hawks. In the 1978 film National Lampoon's Animal House, Cray was the uncredited bassist in the house party band Otis Day and the Knights.

Unique 1977 280z
Pretty decent looking rear bumper delete in my opinion. Probably not a good idea to drive close to schools with those plates.

Very carefully. If you miss you'll have cracks on the front of the dash as well as the top.?- Just what the Doctor ordered. 1977 280z
So a '77 shell weighs 530lbs or there about. Nice to know that information but now do you happen to know a '72 shell? That'd be my two cars weight and I'd like to know except I couldn't do what you're doing! Amazing work Mr Knot.- Bought 2 New Datsun 240Z/Fairlady Z Walnut Shift Knobs
There's a multi-colored baseball bat on letgo for $35 that would be cool looking. Probably get a bunch of shift knobs out of it? https://gb.letgo.com/en/i/rawlings-multi-colored-baseball-bat_7c62a427-ff6c-47ae-83cd-c3180a35b7f2- Heating and Cooling hose set diagram
Being helpful also, I always do a quick google search for questions or images I'm needing answers for. You might as well replace the seals 'while you're at it" Big thanks to @Chickenman for the p/ns. Read a bit further, Chickenman posted in another thread the only part still available from nissan was the seal below. I remember now, seems like i used a 10mm deep socket to push it down.- 1970 240z radiator
My '72 was leaky so I went with a '78 radiator with a ZX full shroud. Runs nice and cool.- Look Ma! No Badges!
Could this one be that early? - Bought 2 New Datsun 240Z/Fairlady Z Walnut Shift Knobs
