  1. Yes, hopefully
  2. I have a soft spot for Beetles. At least old ones. I learned to drive in one. I still have it, although it needs a lot of love now. My dad bought it new in Germany in 1956. Basically a one owner car
  3. X1/9 with a Honda transplant! I bet that's pretty quick...
  4. I miss seeing you Jim and all my other Zcon friends... 😞
  5. Yes, my feed is new content you haven't read. So they all show up but I never look at what subsection a thread is in. I also assumed they were accidental duplicate posts
  6. 52 years!!! Amazing
  7. You're very welcome. Glad to help
  8. That's interesting all 4 of them show up in my feed
  9. Ernest, You're killing me! I feel like I'm sitting still 😉 Looks great!
  10. Love the heated seats! That's great. I like the contrasting stitching too. You'll need to add to this thread your wiring details for your seat heating when it happens
  11. This is a duplicate
  12. I would like too but won't be able to make that happen. If I had a running car, I might have made it an adventure but won't happen in time
  13. I'm afraid he is probably looking for a very rare part unfortunately. He probably aught to look on the Japanese auction sites. I suspect the rest of the world got the Euro / JDM model
  14. I have found that on many locations the harnesses already have small bands of tape at the junctions. I also believe the original loom tape had some adhesive on it. The residue is on the wires, the ends didn't have additional wrapping to prevent raveling and it makes a noise when unwrapping that sounds like old adhesive.
  15. Dutch? Does your friend have the original ecu? Pictures of the numbers on that would be helpful
  16. Yes, they are, but I have found they're worth it!
  17. Yes, coal slag can be very aggressive but it does strip fast. The parts all look great
  18. A clear fuel filter before the fuel pump will be fine. No high pressure at that point in the system
  19. If you only use the mechanical put a bottle under the hood close to the pump. The mechanical pump struggles to prime the line without the car running. If it were me, I would start with the substitute supply at the electric pump. If it works great, if not, move the fuel supply to the mechanical pump
  20. I would think you could put the container on the floor. If there's not a ton of extra line the electric fuel pump aught to prime itself. If it won't raise it up while the pump is running until it primes. Put a return line into the same container so it won't pump all the fuel back to the tank.
  21. Put a pickup line in a container of fuel and use it as the tank. If the system fills and runs, the issue is in the tank...
  22. It's possible but these transmissions will still function well even after abuse. Many times they come out of gear because of interference at the shifter lever. On the transmission I rebuilt that long ago. The only damaged part I really found was the reverse idler gear. It had chipped teeth. Maybe Siteunseen will chime in...
  23. What makes you think it needs a total refurbishment?
