53k is still pretty low miles for a 33 year old car. Does the 82 have the six digit odometer instead of the 5 from the older cars?

I just bought the lizard skin instead of DIY route. I used the insulating lizard skin first then the sound deadening product. Just be sure when you spray that you get enough on so it lays out smooth or even orange peelie. I may even top that with Dyno mat. The car is already much quieter sounding.

True. Having the right timing can change price but I have always sort of worked on the premise "It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it." In this case I can't really do that because I am looking at throwing in a car, a door and a differential and a little cash in trade for a different car. Just want to be sure I set my value right. Zed I know I could sell it on Ebay and truly determine what its worth but this is a little different. It may end up being part of a barter deal and I need to know what the value is so I know what I would still owe for the car we are trading for. That's the problem...

I love how a cleaned up intake looks. Almost as good as triples ... I am so conflicted!

On the E88 issue, I wonder if the there was no clear cutoff or transition to the newer head. Like many things on these cars they seemed to use up existing inventory in a haphazard manner. So the head could be correct even though some cars in a similar VIN range have one or the other head.

280z doors are much heavier than 240z doors. 240z doors feel like empty beer cans. They added a crash bar inside the 280z doors and it adds a lot of weight. Also if you remove them with the window and frames on them that adds too. I would love to learn how to TIG...

Do you have an "FICD"? If so check the lines for leakage. Like Zed said check the vacuum bottle also..

That puts it at $6,800 -$11,200 pretty big range. Read the descriptions of #2 and #3 cars and then look at it and decide which it is. I also agree with Steve people's emotional attachment can make it hard to come to a fair price.

I have opened it and verified the LSD. I figured it was just as easy to mark the outputs and input and just turn one until you get a complete revolution and that would be your ratio. I looked on Ebay and there was only one or two in the for sale or sold listings. That one was offered at $1,200. It has the finned aluminum rear cover which I saw on Ebay yesterday for like $350. I was trying to get some feedback on what was a reasonable price. I searched craigslist coast to coast and didn't find one R200 limited slip. I am not sure I want to part with it for $800. I went to Florida 4 or 5 years ago and picked up this CLSD and a VLSD complete with halfshafts. They are getting so rare I am afraid if I get rid of this one I won't come across another for a reasonable price. Steve come on anytime you're ready. Although you might want to wait until it cools off...

It sounds like Jim would like to help you out and there is no cross border shipping. That would be my first choice...

I had a trailer and the car stripped probably only weighs 300-400 lbs. 4 of us moved it by hand to the frame rack. Like $200 to pull the frame.

I thought the HP loss numbers seemed high too

Sorry John I should have been more specific. I have a Nissan R200 CLSD long nose. I don't know the ratio and haven't taken the time to check it yet. Unknown condition. Bought it out of Florida 5-6 years ago from a guy who was parting cars. Turns smoothly but you know that doesn't mean it doesn't whine like a banshee at speed... I was hoping Chuck or Jeff might chime in too, since you guys are probably more familiar with these than some...

I did the same thing with the car I am doing. It was surprising how far the body was off when they got it on the frame rack. A few hours later and it was all good. Do you have the factory dimensions for the frame shop? Many frame shops don't have them. I believe I have them for the 240 but I don't know how different they are from your car. I have done the same thing with the shifter before which is probably why I noticed. When I tipped it down to clear a lot of the gear oil ended on the floor. I think I said something ugly about then...

I have a clutch limited slip diff with the half shafts. I am negotiating with a guy right now over a car. I may include the diff in the deal but wanted some kind of feedback from you guys on what a fair price for one is right now. Thanks, C

Find a good frame shop and have them put it on the rack. If it's not too bad it should be an easy fix.
