Who owns Z Garage on Geocities?
Excellent! We should also grab the images as well. I'm hoping that the site doesn't die, but, the info is valuable to anyone with a Z. It would be a shame to see it lost. Glad we have a copy!!

Don't Flip the Bird
I was riding to work yesterday when I observed a female driver cut right in front of a pickup truck, causing him to have to drive onto the shoulder to avoid hitting her. This evidently angered the driver enough that he hung his arm out his window and "flipped" the woman off. "Man, that guy is stupid," I thought to myself. I ALWAYS smile nicely and wave in a sheepish manner whenever a female does anything to me in traffic, and here's why: I drive 48 miles each way every day to work. That's 96 miles each day. Of these, 16 miles each way is bumper-to-bumper. Most of the bumper-to-bumper is on an 8-lane highway. There are 7 cars every 40 feet for 32 miles. That works out to be 982 cars every mile, or 31,424 cars. Even though the rest of the 32 miles is not bumper to bumper, I figure I pass at least another 4000 cars. That brings the number to something like 36,000 cars that I pass every day. Statistically, half of these are driven by females. That's 18,000 women drivers! In any given group of females, 1 in 28 has PMS. That's 642. According to Cosmopolitan, 70% describe their love life as dissatisfying or unrewarding. That's 449. According to the National Institute of Health, 22% of all females have seriously considered suicide or homicide. That's 98. And 34% describe men as their biggest problem. That's 33. According to the National Rifle Association, 5% of all females carry weapons, and this number is increasing. That means that EVERY SINGLE DAY, I drive past at least one female that has a lousy love life, thinks men are her biggest problem, has seriously considered suicide or homicide, has PMS, and is armed.

Who owns Z Garage on Geocities?
We've been around since 1994 (in one form or another). We started out as just a mailing list, then a web-page, and eventually became what you see today. It's been fun to say the least!!

Who owns Z Garage on Geocities?
Does anyone know who owns (created) the small website on GeoCities called "The Z Garage?" The code hasn't been touched in a long time and a few links are broken. I can also see it has bandwidth limitations and can't access some of the pages at times. I'd love to host that information here so we never lose it. That info is priceless. -- M http://www.geocities.com/zgarage2001/engine.html

Another obnoxious person messing with a Z
The fact that he chose a Z as a starting point is proof that this car has the respect of the drag-racing community. I just like that this car is such a versitile platform for just about anything. But, it *IS* ugly. :cheeky:

The Boss Key?
There was a little 'blurb' on the 2nd window it opened. We sold a few just from that. So, that paid for a month worth of hosting fees. Not a bad trade, eh? Crash Carl's computer and get a month worth of hosting? Sounds too good to be true. (just playin with ya)

The Boss Key?
Okay, I decided that thing was a gimmick. I replaced it with an ad blurb for our CD instead. Much more professional. :tapemouth

So, looks like they also do colors. Go for hot pink man...

The Boss Key?
I guess it doesn't work right for everybody. Because I don't have any problems with it. I do have to admit that it can be deceptive for people who don't know how to use computers. Yea, the idea came from the old video games where you could select a button and it would pop up a spreadsheet or similar business application. This way, if the "boss" walks by... (could be at work or at home) it looks like you're doing something productive. Must be one of those nerd things I always get hounded about from my family. :cheeky: [m] PS: No need for the huge warnings because it doesn't do anything to your computer (listening Carl?). All of the code is local and it doesn't hurt a thing. We have already sold a few CD's just from the little gimmick anyway.

Whoa!! Wait a minute. They said send it with all the guages still in tact? Wiring harness, too? That's a DEAL!! Sounds like they will take out all the inside components, refresh the dash, and put it all back together again? Hell, that's even better.

Best Blonde Joke Ever
Yep, I added the banner for the CD. I figured with all the traffic, someone might bite. In fact, I think we sold 2 CD's just from it. These CD sales keep our site alive. The money is used to pay server dues.

dash restoration
I'm not in a huge hurry either. But, I do know that this is a VERY ideal solution for people that need to have something done about the dash-cracks. Me? I found a brand new dash from Nissan. Cost me $750. It was a left-over dash from that 240z restoration project Nissan put on a few years ago.

Driving Music...
Anyone have an MP3 player for their car yet? I haven't done this, but, it's a good idea. I'll get one soon. A lot of the newer car decks now have MP3 support playing from a CDROM that you create at home.

cruising ~60~ MPH on freeway and speedo say 90 MPH...
Contact MSA to see if they have a gear for you. If that doesn't work, you'll have to find a gear for your TH-350 for use on the 240z. It's a gear that fits into the tranny somewhere. I'm not familiar with that swap, sorry. Post a message over on the HybridZ site. Someone there might have an answer for you.

Driving Music...
I'm sitting here listening to Led Zepplin and man... this stuff sure does rock. It's been awhile since I've gone through my MP3 collection -- currently 10GB. Just love the song, "You shook me".... Makes me want to get out on the road and cruise in the sunshine! Anyone else have favorite driving music?

One our local Z guys contacted them and asked for a sample of the dash material. I saw the samples and it appears that the material is much softer and will not crack with age (this is guaranteed). I wasn't able to compare the material to my original dash in order to see if the pattern was the same. I'll ask Scott to jump in on this discussion. -- Mike

Nonetheless, I'd still get a quote. Most quotes are only good for a certain period of time (usually 15-30 days). If I was them... I'd always quote AU dollars to make sure they are always making the same amount of money no matter what the exchange rate is like.

Ya, it wasn't a bad deal. Here's the original thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1330 And, make sure you get another quote because the exchange rate moves up and down all the time. Last week it was at .60 to our 1.00.

Even better!! Anyone know if she's a member of this (or any other) Internet club? That's totally cool...
