  1. Hi all, I'm in Tulsa, OK on business (this week) and wondering if any fellow Z fans would like to get together. -- Mike

  4. Umm ... dude, it's YOUR car. Report her to the cops and the insurance company. Don't play their games. -- Mike
  5. Yea, I need to get more involved with that club.... need to go on a nice road trip in the Z...

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention or arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body.... BUT Rather to skid in sideways, Chardonnay in one hand - strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO - WHAT A RIDE!!!
  7. Guys, like with any kind of contract... get it in writing before you make the deal. I would never pay for something without a written estimate of the cost. If the details aren't disclosed up front, don't proceed with the deal. If you do it anyway (or make a mistake by forgetting this tidbit of information) then it's your fault. FYI on the shipping costs... UPS/Fedex seem to be everly increasing their costs. UPS gave me a cost of $8.00 to ship one of our hats from Oregon to Texas!! Talk about a high price margin! Ugh. The good-ol' postal service charges us $5.00 for the exact same item. So, keep in mind that shipping isn't as cheap as it was 5-10 years ago. -- Mike
  8. Yea, I guess the values are all relative to the country.
  9. This is a poll inspired by "daddz" in the general chit-chat forum. Thanks for the idea daddz!! All credit is given to his idea. I just wanted to make a poll out of it so we can keep track on the main page! Fun!! EDIT: Merged the daddyz thread to this one.
  10. Good question! This thread almost needs to be a front page poll. At the moment, I have over $11k invested (err... spent) on my '71 240z. And, it's still a shell!!!!

Guys, she might have deserted the Z-business for various reasons. IMHO, it wasn't done the right way, but, it sounds like she might have given it up. Whatever the reasons, I believe she had a great little business and her methods were TOP notch. Now, after reading this thread, am I to believe there are a few members of this site that have sent her money and have not received the parts? -- Mike
  12. Oh MY! They finally made a yellow one. That is a gorgeous looking car. I should put that one next to my yellow '71.

Man, this situation is pretty freaky. Now that we can go back through the history, we can see it was a sudden thing and it doesn't appear to be foul-play because minimal people were affected (ie: not a screw job). Whom-ever is shipping products for Chloe appears to be doing it out of obligation. As soon as the obligations are met, I have a feeling it will cease all-together. I'm just guessing here, but, this evidence makes me think that either a sickness or death (direct or indirect to Chloe) was to be at fault here. Is there a way to search the obituaries in that area? -- Mike
  16. Hi Texasz, The links area is here. The downloads is part of it now. -- Mike

  19. Thanks for the opinions guys. I appreciate it. However, don't lose focus of the original question. Should we go back to the old way (allowing right-click-download) or keep the new system that prevents any kind of download ? We will ALWAYS have copyright notices on the site and watermarking on the images.
  20. I don't want to provide that option because I don't think I can make it a reality. -- Mike
  21. Simple answer? No. But, it *IS* possible. We're talking quite a bit of development effort to make something like this fly.
  22. Good idea MikeW. I like it.
  23. This has been a hot discussion in our forums. Please give us your opinion. I want to know about the majority vote. At the moment, we are protecting images in the photo gallery from download. Simply put, if someone tries to save your images, our system will prevent them or at least make it a lot more difficult. Do you think we should allow people to download images from the gallery or is this something you think should be protected?

I take that as a compliment. Thanks!! But, actually I saw a need to add some extra effort in this area. Although it did take a few hours to research and develop, the effort wasn't that bad. There were a few comments about how we didn't take action to protect the images, so, I wanted to remedy that. So far, I have done the following to protect your images in the gallery: 1) Right-click does not allow a user to save. 2) Copyright notice on the bottom of the web page. 3) Copyright notice pop-up when someone right-clicks. 4) Watermark on the images. 5) Anti-leeching code that does not allow other websites to display our images on their systems. -- Mike

I've made another change to the gallery. When someone right-clicks on the image it pops up a window with a copyright notice. It doesn't totally prevent hackers saving your stuff. But, it makes it a lot more difficult. Other than hoarding all of the images to your own personal computer, I don't think there is a way to totally PREVENT anyone from accessing your pictures. This is a war that really can't be won. It's something that has existed on the Internet for years. Just look at the Napster fiasco. Anyway, this kind of thing will help keep the honest people more honest. That's all we can do for now. -- Mike
