I was Surprised...
This happens a lot at car shows I attend that are Ford Chevy Dodge shows. A lot of people have a Z story and then I end up with an award. I go to the Z car shows and am poo poo'ed for having a driver. with a little rust. I suppose it is all relative to who ia at what show.

Ah yes Jim, that one is a bit more tricky. One of the short wire switches I have is already broken.

Interesting electrical issue- Series one car......
Flashers do wear out over time, and people just got what ever the parts store had. It is not til later (current times) that people want OEM parts for their cars. I save all the OEM's I can find from parts cars to junk yards. It has paid off for me. Corrosion in the switch will cause resistance = heat. another reason to clean up all the contacts you can find. Niles is OEM. Still could be no good.

I have a few hazard switches if yours turn out to be beyond repair. You can remove it without removing the tach. Remove the two pin lock ring and it slides back and out.

Bend the little metal tabs back there are contacts and nubbins in there. Clean the contacts. Clean out and old crud in there and reassemble with dielectric grease. Clean up the blade connectors too. Some will agree and some will not. It worked for me.

A lot of the light are routed through the hazard switch. I has similar issues, and once I cleaned up the hazard switch all my lights worked properly. Just a though if you have not been in that switch yet.

Here is a general guide to the relays. There are two on the passenger kick panel one called acc. and one for the rear hatch. I seem to remember a flasher relay over there too.

I thought that relay was for the Hatch defroster? I could be wrong. I don't think it is as turn signal flasher though, they are the round 2 wire canister looking ones.

cooling fan blade condition
It does look like Nissan still sell them and a better price too. Looks like darom has it sorted out.

cooling fan blade condition
Here is the link for the fan blade at ZCD. I have always felt their shipping was kind of high priced, but that would also be part of the price. I would be about half of that price but it would be a used fan. I would check for cracks if interested but all will show some wear. They show an 8 blade and I have seen 7 blade fans as well. 240z Door Hinge Rebuild
I think it can be unbolted with the fenders on. just enough room with a swivel, a bent wrench, some friends and a 6 pack. lol The backing plates can be retrieved if they fall, use a stick magnet, you might have to remove the ECU, Holding them in place while starting the bolts is another circus act. get some friends back over and a 12 pack. haha!!

1978 280Z at Washington PicknPull
They do still sell "builders" but only if they have all the proper paperwork. Once the cars are in the yard they only sell parts off them. They always post the picture of the complete car from the pre yard lot. That one looks pretty complete, with good parts on it. Too bad it is so far from me.

- Looking for Turn Signal Switch Upgrade
No biggie, just funning. There are some maybe's. I have a bunch of switches, just not marked as to what they are from. I rely on the visual differences. Graphics, plugs, wires, etc. They did change the switch plugs over the years too. I purchased the headlight and the parking/taillight harness from Dave Irwin long ago and have not had a problem since. I have H4 headlight bulbs and bright tail/ side lights. I did open and clean all my switches myself as well. Made all the difference. Still working well.- Looking for Turn Signal Switch Upgrade
