  1. Torana's!!!!!
  2. Back to the idea, do you have a pattern? If not why not cut one out in Sterling, then have a rubber made. There are plenty of Casters around who charge next to peanuts for investment casting in silver. I do a line in crosses which the metal value in silver would only be $2-3 dollars for patterns. Labour costs of course blow this figure out, however, I've found 925 to be the best material for patterns. If you need any assistance on this my workshop is open to you. MOM
  3. I must agree with you as I didn't think there was an internal pipe either? Are you sure that this is what he did? I'm guessing no-one else has responded to this is that no one has the slightest idea about the internals of the block.
  4. If you need to go low cost metal, why not cast in cuttlefish.
  5. Strange, in fact odd on the 24, only time [once] I have come across this is.....drum roll please, change of life, menopause. Now what was the question?
  6. What carat is your wedder, I have had customers that have had similar reactions with lower carated golds. Perhaps Platinum is the answer!!!!! Incidentally there is a Tarnish Resistant Silver Alloy available [at least here in Oz, contact Apecs Casting], they apparently use silicon at some stage of manufacture. MOM
  7. In answer to your Silver problem, can I suggest that you have it Rhodium Plated. This will stop any tarnish forming and according to the density you have it plated may last a very, very long time. However, you could consider a lower carat White Gold, prefrably one of Nickel alloy, depending on size it may not be cheap, but will last the next 40 years +. MOM
  8. Any idea what a fair market price would be on these? [die-cast] Going from average to restored/pristine?
  9. Well, that certainly enlightening. wonder how many complete tool kits actually made it into there new owners hands? You wouldn't have any info on 77 RHD 260 models at all Alan? I think from what I just seen, the dealer must have ripped me off! MOM

Might be a 1800 motor, but it's been bored out to just under 2L! Anything can still happen, especially with the GTR!

  12. It really depends on the application that you require. I've used Koni in the rally car and found them wanting. Bilsteins have been rallied successfully for many years. Many people use Koni's for track purposes and are happy, so you will need to consider what use you intend. Personally, I would go for an air shock.
  13. whooooo, I said think, please read the instructions on the can first, just in case...........
  14. I would think you would need a etchant primer.

Starting tomorrow [27th] 11 zeds that I counted very quickly. www.targa.org.au
  16. Thanks, unfortunately the painter is a retired 75 year old FIL who lacks up to date product knowledge. Great if you want to use wiping metal to fill up spots, but of little use on this occaision as he will spray what I get for him, hence the query. Thanks for the response, is there a product that protects for UV? MOM
  17. Ah, a LHD 78 260, it would have to be the rarest zed ever!
  18. Sorry, you've lost me. I had a re-think and remember that the dash was different in A/C versions. Is this what you mean?
  19. My 240 is heading off for a long awaited birthday tomorrow. Having had it's last re-paint 5 years ago and has always been out in the weather, all I can say it's long overdue! I noticed in another thread mention being made of clear coating. Now I was wondering if a coat or 2 of this would be beneficial for a car that lives outdoors. I guess it can't hurt but this isn't any showroom car either. Daily driver and spends much time on gravel. Any thoughts? MOM
  20. Wots a 280z ZZZap? Was this a bonifide Nissan Model?
  21. Interested in whether it's RHD or LHD? VIN num? see how close it's to mine?
  22. I thought the dash and controls for a 260 where similar? My 260 would be equivilent to your 280. Have we found another subtle difference in models?
  23. I'm sure your flux capacitor will bring endless bids on e-bay!
  24. Over the years my 240 has had several patch ups, notably the most major was the RH Front guard, which was hit by another vehicle. It's probably the best paint job I've seen, it's also been sprayed in 2 pac. This looked great when I picked the car up, however over the years different panels have faded into different shades. Solution at that time was to spray the cantre of the body black, all the way front he front to back. The black stripe doesn't allow you to compare the colour and also looks like war paint. Alas [much crying here], the time has come and to-morrow it heads inot the paint shop for a much awaited birthday. Now which shade of red will I pick? MOM
