Guus. complete entry list from http://www.targa.org.au/
  2. Sir, I think you have to much spare time on your hands. Stop playing with your keyboards and go and fiddle with the zed, instead! Yep, like it. Some day, some one will show me how to make these!
  3. So I take it thay were LHD?
  4. Being a Contender is not the same as being a Competitior. Sure they [Capri's] competed against zeds, but in my opinion they couldn't be considered a contender. Did you get get the V6 push rod version in the USA or was it modified again?

Thanks for the link, some are awesum, some sad, some funny. Sums up Targa Tassie doesn't it. MOM
  6. If you had been heated up red hot then you would probably be burnt as well! Unless it's ceramic coated [or otherwise protected] then any metal oxides after exposure to high temperature. Personally, this is one item I wouldn't buy by auction as you still need the other bit's to finish off the project! [not to mention the if it still works factor].
  7. No, not really a piece of junk. I would however think it would be obsolete now, though. Looks like it's still needs the carbie's at the very least, unless you where contemplating FI.
  8. Miniture Mustang.
  9. Alfa, don't forget the zed was designed ground up as a sports car. The Capri was an UK version of the 510. A medium family sized car. All that Ford did was to add the V6 and some other cosmetic details and call it a Sports Car! From memory probably the best of the British of the time in the capacity class would have been the Triumph Stag, great little V8, removable top, little heavy and a high price tag [out here, at least]. Of course the XJE was the ultimate, but then again not a subject of this thread.
  10. Torana's!!!!!
  11. Back to the idea, do you have a pattern? If not why not cut one out in Sterling, then have a rubber made. There are plenty of Casters around who charge next to peanuts for investment casting in silver. I do a line in crosses which the metal value in silver would only be $2-3 dollars for patterns. Labour costs of course blow this figure out, however, I've found 925 to be the best material for patterns. If you need any assistance on this my workshop is open to you. MOM
  12. I must agree with you as I didn't think there was an internal pipe either? Are you sure that this is what he did? I'm guessing no-one else has responded to this is that no one has the slightest idea about the internals of the block.
  13. If you need to go low cost metal, why not cast in cuttlefish.
  14. Strange, in fact odd on the 24, only time [once] I have come across this is.....drum roll please, change of life, menopause. Now what was the question?
  15. What carat is your wedder, I have had customers that have had similar reactions with lower carated golds. Perhaps Platinum is the answer!!!!! Incidentally there is a Tarnish Resistant Silver Alloy available [at least here in Oz, contact Apecs Casting], they apparently use silicon at some stage of manufacture. MOM
  16. In answer to your Silver problem, can I suggest that you have it Rhodium Plated. This will stop any tarnish forming and according to the density you have it plated may last a very, very long time. However, you could consider a lower carat White Gold, prefrably one of Nickel alloy, depending on size it may not be cheap, but will last the next 40 years +. MOM
  17. Any idea what a fair market price would be on these? [die-cast] Going from average to restored/pristine?
  18. Well, that certainly enlightening. wonder how many complete tool kits actually made it into there new owners hands? You wouldn't have any info on 77 RHD 260 models at all Alan? I think from what I just seen, the dealer must have ripped me off! MOM

Might be a 1800 motor, but it's been bored out to just under 2L! Anything can still happen, especially with the GTR!

  21. It really depends on the application that you require. I've used Koni in the rally car and found them wanting. Bilsteins have been rallied successfully for many years. Many people use Koni's for track purposes and are happy, so you will need to consider what use you intend. Personally, I would go for an air shock.
  22. whooooo, I said think, please read the instructions on the can first, just in case...........
  23. I would think you would need a etchant primer.
