  1. I'm getting pretty excited about the new developments Keith Franck has made in redesigning the tubes and jetting for the side-draft. It is apparently so good he is planning on patenting the design. So good, he can no longer publish the White Paper he had been just about to publish... So much progress it outdated everything he had to say! Carb Clinic will be fun this year!
  2. Replating will not work unless you can figure a way to deal with the pits the rust left in the metal. Check the bores too. Rust could have pitted these as well. Rock Auto is a source but I just saw one single piston on eBay the other day.
  3. Steve, You could put an internal baffle in to 'slant' the thing front to back to gain the Bernoulli effect. That is the reason the TWM model slants front to back, it speeds up the air to the rear. Also I agree with Leon, no good reason to shorten the air horns.
  4. I agree with John and his example about Hoosiers is spot on. In general, they're wider than just about anything else size for size.
  5. Mark is up for it... I have had perhaps a dozen different events at Mark's shop. We are good friends. Yes, I'm thinking March or April. After the rain but before it's too hot.
  6. Not yet but if you have any ideas, I'm open to them. Actually, the way Keith has been experimenting lately, we will have some new things to try ourselves!
  7. They're aluminum. They will polish just like wheels...
  8. Specifically, he needs one left caliper...
  9. I just bought an L28ET for $125.00 P90/F54 with crosshatch still visible in the bores.
  10. Help! Eric needs core calipers... Orders are starting to roll in for caliper restorations and he needs spares to keep things moving. Watcha got and how much ya want?
  11. Candlestick 2001, Scott Fraser driving. Is this the car Vic Sias won SII Nats in?
  12. I'm not sure why anyone should be concerned about powder coating temperature with aluminum sill plates. 400 degrees F is less than 1/3rd the melting temperature of aluminum. Yes you can powder coat in clear and a chrome look powder.
  13. tlorber, I'm thinking of doing this in my Z. The Porsche is a bit too unruly for 1000 miles of civilization. Do both the driver and codriver need to register?
  14. Sounds like you'll be busy taking pictures of your own... Congratulations!
  15. Now come on out and do the Targa California with me. 1000 miles in three days!
  16. Steve Parmley just posted this on his Facebook page. I think it is the coolest BSR pic I have ever seen!
  17. Kacrow, If you're talking about mine thanks, but I use my regular window cranks...
  18. Bryan, I think only Pete from Strictly914. Les has a guy and they are working on integrating the metal top and the panel but I think it might be a ways off. I wont say anymore than that publicly.
  19. Bryan, I think some people are doing custom vinyl upholstery on the fiberglass core. Mine is using Les' vinyl reproduction so it does have the chrome.
  20. Bryan, Not without sacrificing the old door panel. My one good one is, well - good. I didn't want to rip the vinyl off. I did take measurements for the position of the inside door pull and the other holes are pretty simple. You just mount it up and you can see through it to drill the holes where they belong. As you can see, mine does have the chrome strip.
  21. Steve, My car isn't 'exclusively' a track car, but the euro dampner has been on there for years and I wind it out pretty good. No problems. That aluminum one is not going to come apart. It's solid.
  22. Steve, I have two of the Euro dampners that Datsun sold out of the comp department. I also have some alloy pulley that I think they also sold. I don't really know what they're worth but if you need it, I'm sure we can come to some sort of agreement... Oh, I have an extra of that comp pulley bolt too...
  23. I should have quoted him. I was responding to tlorber's gloat that while you are putting your car away, he is going on drives in the Angeles Crest Highway... "We have a new years day run planned through Angeles Crest. Sorry..."
