Anyone try the MSA aluminum driveshaft?
And there you have it, 'the last word.'

Let's show vintage racing pictures. I'll start.
Since I started the thread, I can speak to this. My intention was in posting pictures to get the collaborative input of the members to fill in the blanks where it can be done. There has never been an intention that this be a picture only thread. I stated above that the pictures I personally have gathered come for the most part from a picture-only thread on another site. I have no idea where the person who posts them gets them, However I can tell you that the guy who has this vast library of pictures is Colin Chapman's nephew. I know him personally but I doubt he has time to discuss them. I do know that he and his friend who also has a very large racing picture library live in the same area of Florida as Carl, and have been to some of the same events because they have taken pictures of Carl's BRE Rally car. If you know something about the car or the race, by all means, contribute to the knowledge base. :classic: My confusion in thinking the recent B&W picture I posted was recent is because along the rocker panel it says something followed by 2001. I took that to be a year.

Ok, Leon is still right, there is no more power being made, and you have restated what I said which is that "there is just an increase, however large or small in efficiency." You're correct. You'll probably want the last word but I agree, there is an increase in efficiency under acceleration. 8)

Leon is correct. There is no more power. There is just an increase, however large or small in efficiency. Somewhere, there is probably a trade though. Maybe they only have a service life of 5 years, there is always a trade off.

There are coming from a strictly picture thread. I would say, less than one percent Datsun/Nissan...

TR6 commanding big bucks these days,,,,Z's should even be higher ,,,,,thougths
Ok Julio, that is true of British sports cars until the MGB. It actually has been called 'the most popular sports car in history' due to having the longest run and largest number of cars made (by the report of my British car friends). I have owned British cars. Didn't have much opportunity to drive them as they generally don't run. But, I've never lost money on one. Basically drag them home and after a year of frustration, sell it for the same or slightly more money. I think Tim Suddard has it right. Restore the body, replace everything mechanical with a rotary and new electronics. Then race the snot out of it...

Was that a Z?

Was that a Z?
I agree with Jon. If you're going to modify the Z, the one that looks enough like a Testarossa to wizz off Ferrari and this one are pretty cool.

Les, A friend, Gary Cook who is on this site, was able to run at Monterey with a BRE replica this year. His car was built with input from Pete Brock so that might have been in the cards he played. You should be able to run that...

The sad thing is that you really can't make an honest opinion without replacing a good stock one with the aluminum or carbon fiber one... All you can say is yup, now it works.

Now that's a brake upgrade!
I checked with the engineers and the difference in flex between aluminum and steel is .002". This is repeatable. Flex is not an issue. The testing was done at 20 times normal pressures.

Aluminum Threshold Plate Restore
This is what I am doing. Soda blast to clean, powdercoat in chrome.

This picture was taken in the warehouse section of Bruce Canepa's shop. If you look down in the left corner of the picture you can see part of the Frizelle car. Up above the elevator car parking system and to the right is a warehouse of rare parts that he finds and buys. On the floor just to the right and out of view is a staging area for parts to go on restorations. A great tour if you can talk him into it.

Don't know if this belongs here or in Boobs.
I would guess the owner to be a member here since one of the pictures in the ad is posted here...

Now that's a brake upgrade!
We're good Julio. We are actually three different companies that come together for projects. In all three cases the businesses are our own. 99% of what we have done is Porsche related. I am trying to coax us as a group into the Z project. Our goal is to make no money. No kidding. We're simply trying to make available what is NLA. We're fully cognizant of the fact that the market is small and getting smaller.

Julio, Are you thinking we are doing this at work? Nope...

Now that's a brake upgrade!
We have engineers. 8) Flex apparently is a function of the fastener. The fastener in this case is more than adequate to prevent flex. Oh, and to answer Leon, yes they are track tested.

Now that's a brake upgrade!
Here is an example of what we are doing with 914 brakes. These are a reverse-engineered set of Porsche brakes. They weigh in at a whopping 3# each and shave 10# off the rear of a 911 or 914. They also happen to be the same brakes fitted to the Ferrari 308 series. Performance numbers are the same with the exception that they give up heat so much faster. We are thinking we might want to do the same with the Datsun Competition Sumitomo calipers if we can get our hands on a set. Pardon the Christmas marketing photo...
