  1. Remember, he's living on an old hammer farm and apparently they grew in the field out back. The later you pick 'em, the bigger they get.

Of note are the vent holes above the strut towers. These look like speaker holes but are for the C pillar vents. The bump out for the expansion tank is larger than the early 70-71 cars that had the plastic tank. Also I believe the 77-78 were different as well. (Raised Floors) Your 260 should be the same as late 240 (72-73) to early 280 (75-76) and the 260 of course. 1974 Bump outs for the taillight access too. Early cars were flat panels.
  3. Got the base plate in, and the smaller plate. I only cut exactly 1.5" off the bottom of the studs, so it was a bitch to get that in under the studs. The large sledge helped. Under foam barrier & butyl Funky piece to fit the corner. Had to shave 1/4 off the whole piece to clear the existing concrete, then used the router to cut a step that tucks under the cross plate, as did the original After that was fitted, I added an extension to the 2x4 plate, then a 7" section of 4x4 to repair the corner post, then a similar length for the visible stud that abuts it. New siding for the 3rd run, Concrete backer for the lower 10" Covered with Protecto-wrap, this stuff sticks to anything. Now I can put up the last pegboard, move everything back , and get moving on the V8 conversion for my Volvo truck.
  4. As Capt. O intimated I have a number of sledges - all were found objects (no handles, 2 I dug out of my yard)- that one was in my Mum's basement. I think it's about 30lbs, perfect for obstinate base plate fitment.

I would tint after install. A good tint shop aught to be able to trim right at the gasket accurately enough. Also if the tint needs changing you can remove it all and replace. And also for the reasons you have expressed
  6. I installed the S12W calipers on my 78. Used 300zx rotors from stop tech. You need the Techno Toy spacer kit. You also have the nibble off a piece of the backing plate for caliper clearance. The S12W has two large pistons where the S12+8 solid rotor style has one large and one small Piston.
  7. Four of your plugs look great and two look terrible. The fact that your pressure numbers look good but you're losing oil and have two dirty cylinders suggests that the oil scraper rings in those two cylinders are damaged, or the intake valve seals on those two cylinders aren't working. Valve seals is the easiest place to start. Changing oil won't help. You might be able to see by eye if the intake valve seals on those two cylinders are different than the others. Worth a look. I wouldn't be surprised if the engine is only firing on four or five cylinders. Those plugs are filthy.
  8. There are two different S12+8 calipers one vented and one not.The S12W is a vented only caliper. The Toyota rotors are 6 lug. You would need 300ZX rotors. Here is a snip from a Hybrids post.
  9. I called them today. It seems they had a place in Atlanta, but they said that during Co-vid they shut it down. They only have operations in CA now. I will send them pics and get a quote. This is the website: https://decometalfinishing.com/chrome-plating-in-atlanta-ga.html
  10. Back to the garage for a bit - I need to finish the base plate replacement on the south wall . Removed the dead one Poured gravel into the lower cinder block, then concrete into the upper. Set two bolts to tie the new plate This corner will need separate attention
  11. Finally did the refresh on the motor and getting ready for install. Just waiting on the headers so I can put the intake manifold on.
