  1. They're regular tag hold down screws. I found a picture that shows I used the carded "Help" stuff from a chain store, they're plastic.
  2. My sense is that the cone shape is less important (perhaps unimportant) than the ID of the delivery tube. I suspect that the cone shape is provided to help prevent material from building up at the orifice exit. A thin-wall brass tube sleeve (see GK's message, above) will certainly give more strength to a solder repair, but it may prove to be a matter of winning the battle while losing the war. My 2 cents: Buy a new gun ($50). Annoying, but pragmatic.
  3. Small stuff in the garage. Trying to figure out what I wanted with the forward lower half of the (repaired area) south wall I decided to pegboard down to about 2', then I'm adding another 2x4 plate on the bottom to make a raised "shelf" - I need a place to store heavier odds and ends that I keep in these plastic bins. This will work out fine. The shelf is total of 8" depth, so doesn't extend in beyond the sill plate After I added the 2nd from the top 8" deep x 63" shelf, l added some more 7.5" x 22" corner shelves - I've set sheathing on top of the 1-in insulation, in between the studs, so I can use the maximum depth for the shelves (added approx 3" additional in the recess). I decided I didn't want any additional full width shelves, trying to keep this wall as open as possible. Had time to prime. I can't do anything with the other half of the lower wall, until I address the sill in that area. So that's going to just stay the way it is for the time being.
  4. Happy Anniversary Conedodger! Cliff is in charge of picking some up at a church near his house later today. My 17th anniversary of joining the group is tomorrow (4/7/2007). In lieu of flowers, please make a generous donation to your favorite parts vendor.
  5. They are very small plastic push pins similar to the interior but much smaller. Still available from Nissan. Expensive meaning they are $4.71 each but you have to buy a pack of 10. p/n 79909-E4100 Send me a PM if you canโ€™t buy just 2
  6. Not 100%, but typically there are hook-like devices to hold one side and the screws lock it in so that it can't come out of the hooks. Not sure what exactly you're trying to fit. But here are some things that look like they might be involved. Modified your picture. I went to BAT to try to find an example and found that people are doing all kinds of different things. Might be worth browsing aorund to get some ideas. Many people just use the four screw holes, apparently. Naked plate. https://bringatrailer.com/datsun/280z/?q=280z Some only have two holes and the bottom hooks.
  7. I see that this was a hot topic back in 2008:
  8. Getting closer to the point where I will need carpets to finish the car. I find the carpets in the Green BAT car to be different than the common loop that is available: I think that looks like the carpet that I got off of eBay a while back: This is what is commonly available: The hatch floor piece I got off of eBay looks to be original. I examined it closely, and it is loop. However, the loops appear to be more densely situated and the pattern looks to be more uniform than what I see commonly available. This looks a bit more uniform, but still looks different. This looks closer. It can be easier to see the pattern when looking at lighter colors: Anyway, I am pretty certain I have found all the available options. I hope I can get some samples of what I found to see it in person.
  9. Fibreglass tail panels finally came - I placed the order in mid November with Zociety - I was getting worried that they were a scam. Oscar did communicate a couple times, but he always implied shipping was just around the corner. Anyway, he was very apologetic at the end there, and said that if I were to buy something else in the website they would give me a break. They appear solid enough. I went for the plain fiberglass finish. I have to paint them anyway & want the chrome edge, which they do not offer as a finish
  10. Dropped the carpets in today, meh, they're ok, the back carpet is about an 1" too short so had to paint that visible area in front of the cubbys with flat black paint so it won't be as noticeable. I loaded a few heavy tools into the back to compensate for no quarter windows, hatch glass, or muffler so I could get the rear control arms torqued.
  11. A friction fit sleeve inside the tube? And solder๐Ÿ˜„
  12. I have a picture of a girl called Flower and it's NOT because of her sweet smell. The complete opposite actually. Happy birthday!
