  1. I think so (and hope so). They're all about originality. The window sticker and OE paint are trophies to me. With these cars old is good. If you wanted one, you could decide on which way to go. My original paint looks way better than base and clear coat. You can cut and buff single stage. That's my opinion of course because that's what I have. Other's will have different views I'm sure.
  2. Interesting car there. I noticed that you did not say motor was matching numbers. That would be a big item when it comes to price. The motor appears to have been out at one time since the motor mount bolts are installed with one facing down and the other facing up. That is kind of funny actually. Odd that the whole balance tube is stripped; Fast Idle control and everything, not just smog. The thing that is really bugging me in the pics is the dash. It is not original as the grain looks way too coarse and does not match the glove box door. Perhaps it is a 'Just Dashes' dash. I don't think it is a cap from the pics, but hard to tell. In it's favor, the car does have a lot of original stuff (seats, muffler, Paint (?)) and looks great. Given the above items, I would say the car is worth somewhere between $20K to $35K. The low number would be if the engine is not matching numbers. High end is if motor is matching numbers and paint is real nice. Just my opinion....feel free to ignore.
  3. That is the first good photo of the brake master heat shield that I have seen, it was missing on my 77 when I got it, now at least I know what I'm looking for. Thanks
  4. I don't like to voice opinions about car values, however I don't see any reason why the car is priced so well above the prices posted on the value index sites for similar cars. It is priced well above a recent auction pinnacle. It has had the emission system removed. I think that car is worth half the advertised value - max.
  5. I just installed this kit in a 78' and had 2 sheets leftover. I could probably find a home for them if I had to. This is not my car, but I chose it for the coverage and I'm putting in the MSA carpet kit over it which has a nice thick jute backing. I'm not sure doubling to 100ml would do better. I think the way all of this butyl deadening works is that it absorbs vibration in the metal, correct? so would more necessarily be better? Keep in mind I attended many, many rock concerts in the 70's....
  6. I got Blue in 2003. Was forced to find work abroad in 2006. No fun leaving your family for so long. Always glad to have helped you!
  7. Was that your first Z, in 2006? If so it really did change your life, and ours, for the better. I think I would have thrown in the towel were it not for your help and encouragement. You are what got me hooked on 240s too. That red one you did back around 2011. So then I went and bought two! Now I'd have to get a second mortgage to do that. They've really taken off these last 5 years.
  8. 72/240z = 39 5/8th" this car has had a minor front end collision, 77/280z = 39 1/4" no front end damage that I can see.
  9. Oh well .....just mounted a new cheap muffler today until I get my system from Japan(Trust twin Pipes and twin Stack tips Exhaust System). Surprisingly this ebay muffler sounds good.

  11. Did a few things this evening after work: Drained the gas tank...looks like a nice dark ale. Vintage 2007. Removed carpets, removed the the tar barrier from the floor pans, vacuumed the interior and test fitted a BMW seat.... comfy! Looked at the past good old days before 2006 turned my life upside down. Good ol' Blue
  12. More humor. Because we like to have fun here. Explanation shouldn't be necessary.
  13. Cold Fusion, can't wait for a table top unit
  14. For the moment diesels are the best choice for most of the jobs they do. Can you imagine how much gasoline a freight train would burn or a semi, loaded with 40 tons or a combine. Until something better comes along it's what we got...they get cleaner every year Talc causes cancer too but I still use it when I shoot pool. Lot's of products I cut up with a circular saw cause cancer too, and I cut them up and build houses with them because that's what the rules ordained by the government mandate. I prefer not to joist windmills, just trying to get by and provide for my family while I can. Just a little cog in this great big system!
