  1. Yes!! It's been towed to impound because we are out of town. Happy ending to the story.
  2. Discovered it by accident, could not find any thin rope so gave the trimmer line a go, perfect, couldn't believe how well worked. It just slides over the rubber. Yes sir, much easier than the other way. Mark, it's exactly like the method that everyone uses but use trimmer line instead of kitchen cord or thin propylene rope. Start the line in the middle of the windshield seal at the the bottom and tuck the line into the seam that will go over the weld flange of windshield opening, continue all the way around until you are back to where the other end of the line is sticking out. Just like in the pic, then mount the whole thing on the car and start pulling one side of the line, this will bring the rubber seal lip over the weld flange, now start pulling the other side, you want to work both ends of the line, a few inches on this side a few inches on the other. As you are pulling the lip in press it home with your fingers so that it is well seated on the flange, the bottom and sides are fairly easy it's the two top corners that can be tricky, on the D/S you have to use a clockwise circular motion with the line to pull the corner in and a counter CW motion on the P/S to p corner, you can also use the other hand to push the glass in from the outside. A helper would be good but you can easily do by yourself.
  3. Absolutely begin with all three carbs independant linkage wise. Get each one flowing the same as you set the idles amoungst the three until the car idles well. Make sure the idle mix screws are all the same turns out (1, 1.5, not past three or you have other issues...) as a starting point. THEN hook up the linkage (should not cause ANY throttle change from base case) and get it idling again.
  4. I would disconnect the linkage from the carbs and see how it acts. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  5. Finally got the exhaust up high enough to keep from scraping. I must say however after installing the header, the car is a lot louder than I anticipated. I ended up purchasing a very small stainless resonator, approx. 14" long with a dia. of 3.5" on Ebay. The guy at the muffler shop told me I was wasting my time having him install it, he said it wouldn't have any meaningful impact due to its small size. I told him to do it anyway. The end result was excellent, it reduced the noise at idle a little and a lot under load. It also eliminated the drone at cruising speed. Very happy with the results.
  6. It's rare that I enjoy a rarely disputed discussion of rarity. I didn't even know that there is an ABS valve cover. What car did that come on? So, are those scratches in the logo? $2,000 for a scratched (irreparable) valve cover? Or are those scratches even rarer that the rare rarity?

    UPDATE: Rotisserie purchased!
  9. Bruce and Z Therapy don't have them. I'm the manufacturer and sell them on Ebay for $69.95. I had the same issue as many others so I designed this product. The nice thing about them is that you can check fuel levels with the running or not
  10. Haha! That's exactly how most of my projects go: "And then a completely unprofitable huge amount of time later, I have this...."
  11. I applied clear film protection on it nonetheless since it's so exposed to rock chips.
